Was just wondering becasue I saw this on EBAY http://cgi.ebay.com/RC-NITRO-GAS-VOLCANO-SV-PRO-2-SPEED-KIT-REDCAT-RACING_W0QQitemZ190150523463QQihZ009QQcategoryZ44029QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I just got an email back from the seller and he said that that is only for 1/10 redcats Would it be possible to get a 2 speed for the monsoon or possibly make one (if that's possible)?

anything is possible but could I ask why? Just to be different? You wont need a 2 speed with a truggy.

In a way yes...to be different. I like experimenting with the cars to see what happens. May I ask if anyone knows why the 2 speed won't work?

I am not saying it wont work. You will just have to make one up. I personally just dont think it is worth the time but that is just an opinion.

NO, I mean the hobby shop said the 1/10 2 speed won't work with 1/8. Why not?

Even if you did manage to get it to work somehow it would get torn to shreds within seconds.

here are some pics of the mod i did on my vtx, its very simple, i used a 1/4'' drill bit then a file. you can use a cutting bit, hacksaw, jigsaw, your teeth (if they are strong enough), just about anything. just extend the flywheel hole about another 1/2 inch to the front of the vehicle. then use a bump start engine or cut the backplate to slide in between the engine mount, gonna need a starter box after that, the holes for the pull starter will be gone. maybe the top two holes alone will work if you want to try it.
