Hi Good Morning,

I have 8 servos that can run directly of 7,4V's in an AM 35% Yak. My question is, can I run 7,4V directly into the Power Expander Sport and have 7,4V on the Servos and still have 5V on the receiver? I do not want to run any reg's or any other strange goodies.

Is this possible?
Please Help.
Regards
Dries.

Hi Dries,
Yes, the PowerExpander line was designed to allow this. Do NOT run any servos off the receiver though, such as throttle. The reciever 1 amp regulator cannot handle the receiver and servos.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the reply.
So, as I understang you, I will have to use a regulator for the Throttle Servo if I use a sservo that is not rated at 7,4V?

Am I right.
regards
Dries

Hi Dries,
That is correct. The regulator for the receiver cannot support a servo also.

Hi,
I forgot to mention that I did make up some 6.0V versions of the Ignition Regulator that are not on the site yet. They have 3-wire connectors on them so you could use one of them for a throttle servo. I made this up for pattern planes and smaller mostly but they should work find in this application too.

Hi Robert,

Me again, Just to make sure. A 2 cell lipo at 8,4V fully charged into the Power Expander Sport WITHOUT REG. is no problem?

I just need to be sure.
thank you

Dries

Hi Dries,
The PowerExpander Sport can handle this, but you better be really sure you servos can handle 8.4V. Otherwise you will burn them out fast.
