I just purchased a 58CD RCV engine and am having some trouble finding an appropriate motor mount. Specifically, I need to mount the engine with the carburetor very close to the firewall so no full circle base will work. The arms need to end 3" or more from the firewall. They need to be separated 1.5"

Second question - How many turns in from full out on the idle adjustment screw for a rough starting point?

Hi

With regard to an engine mount, you have a couple of options
1) Use an adjustable mount eg. Great Planes - Medium Adjustable Engine Mount (GPMG1061

2) Or simply cut an existing mount in half and remove the circular part - We have done this for one of our own models

3)With regard to the idle needle, the best thing to do is shut the throttle barrel - screw in idle fully and then unscrew 4 turns. This is only a starting point is there is no hard fast rule.

I hope this helps
Laurenne

I made a mistake on the idle needle starting position.

The screwing it 4 turns from the 'full in position' refers to the SP series.
The 58CD uses a different carburettor - If you need to adjust the idle needle to a good starting setting - open the idle needle out fully and then turn 3 3/4 turns.

Cheers
Laurenne
