Is the copterx http://www.ehirobo.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=173_174&products_id=5128 and the Trex similar to each other because I was thinking of getting a tex and was adding all the things I need to get it to fly up and figured out that I currently cant afford it but i can affotd the copterx. I can see that my HBK2 is slowly dieing and I dont really want to spend any more money on parts for it? Has any one tried the CopterX? it seems like a really good deal.

I have not tried the CopterX but i know that it is identical to the Align T-Rex 450. so i would just order parts for the T-Rex 450 and use them on the CopterX.

Regarding CopterX I have recently viewed the following website
http://www.walkera-heli.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=22

And found that there have been some delivery problems. Product ordered as advertised was apparently not delivered.
It may be important to use extra caution when considering the purchase of this product.

i have ordered from ehirobo twice with no issues. as to the copterx, very good knock off but it is a knock off. if the copterx is what you can afford then go for it.

I am glad some people have had good luck or ordering from Ehirobo, my concern is with those who receive damaged, incomplete, or incorrect goods.
Anyway, I would like to know if you own "copterx" and how you like or dislike it.

I am in complete agreement about it possibly being a reasonable choice for someone who cannot afford to put out the extra $$$$ required to purchase what may be considered a higher quality parts heli.

in these forums and at rcgroup,s and helifreaks ive heard no one complaining about delivery and everyone who has one loves it.

whats not to like? if there was one flaw worth whineing about everyone would be complaining and the X bashing threads would be a mile long. well there are none of those. only positive threads

all the clones are pretty dang good it just depends on what electronics you put in them or buy them with, that is the key

Hi Srouthouse,

I agree that this forum has a lack of people claiming any difficulty with parts, orders or damage. That is of course to be looked upon as a good sign. Hopefully.
And you may be right about the mile long bashing if there were complaints.

I see that one can purchase a complete heli that includes almost everything, or everything.
And I see that it is possible to buy a bare bones where ones must then buy motor, ESC, servos, batteries, and a receiver that works with the transmitter one already has.

Guess I will have time to look into what options seem to be best.
I know I don't need another transmitter, unless it would be to consider one of the new "2.4 or .5" band xmitters.
Otherwise I would prefer to have the power and controllability to do anything I became skilled enough to attempt!

iv been 3ding my copterx for a year now and absolutly love it, every one at my club has been buying them, even the align fanatics are buying them. There a great heli which has just as good quality as the align stuff. Awsome heli, ehirobo was fine to me.

Do any of these Helis have the direct drive like the Falcon 3D?
I am wondering if there are any big advantages to having direct drive as opposed to a belt driven rotor.

Druss if you actually get a CopterX please post the results of your comparison.
I would hope that that would include not only components but flight handling and such.

the biggest advantage that torque tubes have over belts is the ability to auto rotate better. belt drives are better when you have a blade strike on the tail boom, the belts can still work without replacement if you straighten the boom but torque tubes usually have to be replaced.

also, when you have a tail blade strike you may snap the belt but not affect the gears, if you have a tail blade strike with a torque tube you can strip or ruin the gears as well.

here we go, a year and a half ago, when i was searching for my first real heli, I went to the field and asked all the "pros", align trex 450se was the only way to go most people told me, so i went to the field by my self to fly one of my 3d planes, when in a little pickup truck, a younger japanese guy hopped out of the truck and with him a little 450, he introduced me to the copterx and after watching some unreal 3d, like i mean the stuff alan stabzo does (sp?) so he told me he has had about 8 different 450 helis, four of them being aligns trex, he sold all of the aligns, and bought to copterx setups and like them more, why more you ask? because there cheaper, parts are cheaper, parts are equal in quality, and because its cheaper to fly, thats how he got so good at 3d, he said he wasnt as afraid to try 3d were he was with his more expensive birds. After that, i bought the copterx and never went back. I have flown several trexs and like my copterx more, perhaps its just the eletronics i have aboard, i dont know, but i love my little copterx. Best investment iv ever had in this hobby.

The copterx is now available in the USA from www.heli-bros.com. I think they have free shipping.

I am missing something. When I add up the CopterX v2, and add the case, motor, esc. etc. that comes with the Trex V2 the price is close when I include the 100 dollar shipping to the CopterX. I was all over the CopterX hearing that it fly's well until I read the shipping.
