Hey guys,

Have just finished my last bottle of Flair Yellow Spot which is 5% Nitro, 20% Castor and rest Methanol. Have just gone to model shop and bought Model Technics Formula Irvine. Which is 5% Nitro, 18% Oil (4% Castor and 14% "Klotz" and remainder methanol.

From what I have found, my new fuel is a great general sport flying fuel. But it is now mainly synthetic oil, do I need to do anything before switching to this fuel?

Cheers for any help

Paul

Just Engines indicates 18% total oil is fine for Irvine engines:

Since you’ll now have 2% more methanol in the mix you’ll probably need to adjust the needles some to compensate.

Yes, I expected that, but I don't need to do anything else then? I thought there was maybe some sort of procedure when switching from castor to synthetic.

Cheers

There aren't any procedures needed when switching (other than a retune of course) but personally I'd run a little richer with synthetics just to be on the safe side.

There's no procedure that I know of other than tune and run.
