That is cool as heck!

CP, I recently finished the top secret CC project and a boost glider. On the bench today is a 1/2 quickie for the reedie race.

FW, beautiful work! In the rear view, the model looks "doable", in the forward view, the model looks "impossible"

Vic, good to hear that you're pecking away at your earlier commitments. Just think now, at this rate you'll be caught up enough with all the other projects by your 89th birthday to tackle this one

Looks awesome! I would be too busy picking it up and admiring it to get any work done.

HAHA... Ive raised it over my head making engine noises a few times already...

I just ordered the second engine for it. I couldnt find any locally after calling most of the shops in my area. I noticed that they are listed as discontinued on the Tower website too. I found some somwhere else online and snatched one up before it's too late. I think the two engines weigh as much as the airframe or more...haha.

I can't help but make those high pitched supersonic whistling sounds when I just look at the pictures!

More pictures...I need to finish hinging the rear control surfaces and make the three bottom hatches. Then prep for covering. Ive decided to install fixed gear for the first few flights. I'm using 1/8'' wire and light weight wheels to keep the weight down. The gear will also help with orientation in the air too.

Thanks guys...I cant wait to start covering it. Its going to look really tough once Ive got the black covering on it. Im sort of sweating my engine choice though. I may have trouble getting another engine to match the one Ive got already. Keep getting it backordered on me. I found it at a place called thundertiger4you online and put in a order. It seemed to o though but that was on wednesday and it looks like they havent charged me for it yet and I havent gotten any sort of shipment notification. I noticed that OS is also dropping their bushing .25 too (.25 LA) since it's showing as being discontinued on the tower site. I may have to buy two engines now if I can match mine. The next closest be would be possibly the GMS .25. I looked at the OS .25 FX but it is about $30 more per motor over the GMS engine ($55 vs $85). Anyone know anything about these motors? Also, I have a pair of TT pro .36's (Ive got two already already mounted in aircraft) would almost fit too but Im worried that might be too much power for such a small model... Ive got one mounted in my Avistar 40 and it pulls it around easily weighing 5lbs! Also, a .36 will suck down that 4oz tank I've installed in each nacelle in no time.

The .25 FX are great...GREAT little engines. You will not be disappointed, they are worth the extra. My humble opinion on GMS is this.
They come from the same abyss that gave us Meccoa, who sold me two of the worst things I have bought in the RC world to date. From what I have read here in RCU concerning GMS they have been plagued by leaky carbs, idle, and transition issues.
My FX purrs like a kitten at idle and barks up to 16,5 with an 8X6 with no fuss.

My opinions and experience.

I got a lot done last night. I finished the fixed gear, all pushrods and control surfaces. All I need now is to finish making the hatches and then the whole thing gets hit by sandpaper!

If you have a pair of reliable, broken-in TT-36 engines..... use them. Good to have engines with a history behind them.

You can always rig the throttles to 80% power --- will save fuel so the fuel burn will be about the same as an OS25, and if you get crafty (and use a helicopter pitch/throttle mix) you can dial in the throttle curve and rpm for each engine seperately.

Plus you can use the throttle hold feature to start one, idle it (throttle hold, on throttle ch) and then start the other engine (run on pitch ch)
