Hey, I am VERY new to electric RC helis. I have a kyosho EP concept on the way, with a 2000 battery. Will the heli fly with 1600s or 1400s and i know where I can get these very cheap.
Thanks a lot, Greg.

Greg - As long as the cell count is the same the smaller capacity cells will work but the flight duration will be a lot shorter. You may be disappointed with having to change battery packs so often.

Ok, so how long do you think I could get out of a 2000, and 1800 etc?
Thanks

With the stock motor and the recommended weight in the instructions, I was getting 5-6 Minutes on CP-1700 eight cell NiCad packs. Using a Hacker C40 12s, 16t pinion, MS CF 395mm main rotor blades and eight cell packs of Sanyo HC-SR 2600 mah NiMh's, I get 8-10 minutes consistently.

The problem with just going to larger capacity NiCads is the added weight. You get more flying time but not as much as you might expect due to the weight increase.

Going Brushless and using NiMh batteries will break out of the trap of diminishing returns up to a point. The next step up will be available when the newest Lithium Polymer High Output cells become commonly available.
Hope this helps.
