Hi

I have a jett 50 FIRE with tuned pipe should it be supported somwere because it is fairly long and is only held on by the header and the blue tuned pipe conector thing (the thing that looks like it could be the mother of all fuel tubing )

should i do somthign or just put the zipties on with the connector and call it a day??

F Freak:

You need a pipe hanger for sure located at about the CG of the pipe. Go to Tower, available for around $10.00, think a Dave Brown product. Central Hobbies carries a number of different types. Its a easy install, but should connect to a piece of plywood to spread the load. Yes, the pipe-header connection is make from good quality silicone. Get the good stuff from Jett or Nelson or good HS. Last thing you want is to have the connection burn through and leave that $100.00 pipe waiving in the breez. ENJOY

You definately want to support the pipe. Mount it at the fat part of the pipe --- or just aft of there.

The dave brown pipe mount is a good choice.

Hush mount or hard mount is ok. I prefer the hard mount if pulling a lot of G in the turns.

A zip tie on each side of the header coupler is needed too.

Thanks for the assistance there rmenke

I can not directly confirm the size match, since I dont have a dave brown hush mount on hand, but the 7.5cc pipe is considered a .40 size pipe. No reason it should not fit... size mainly has to do with the size of the o-ring supplied.

I usually use the standard dave brown mount... uses a tie wrap to retain the pipe into a small cradle. So size is not an issue.
