Too funny, I logged on to make the exact same post. I just heard about this from the LHS. He said its right at 500.00 and is due out between late Aug and early Sep.

I was going to ask if anyone had pics yet, lol.

$469.99 according to e-flite's page, but it looks like that includes the D-X6i transmitter. Not a bad little bird IMO, but for another $100, you can get a TREX....choices choices

For another 100$ you can get a Trex AIRFRAME.

Thats 469.00 and it flies when it gets to your house with no setup.

SE kits w/no electronics are 470+.

If they make decent CNC parts for this and if it's made well, you might have a field-able competitor with a little work.

OK, my mistake, for an extra $110 you can get a trex 450 SE with everything (including a 401 gyro, extra blades, brushless motor, ESC, and servos) minus a rx and tx

Dont get me wrong, I'm an e-flite fan, i have the CX2, CP, and CPP. But everyone here has to admit that e-flite has some issues with thier helicopters, and if you're going to flop $500 out for a helicopter, e-flite isnt the first thing that comes to mind.

We got it for less than that.... and we ship it for free w/ preorder
and really this is a great deal when you think about having to purchase the DX6 unit as well as your other items to complete the 450se airframe.

I talked with eflite about this, and they said that this is there answer to the 450, at a much better value. im sure we will need to swap out some stock for alum, and other things, but its a great start when you think about everything included.

just some food for thought

Hi,

No particular similarity to the 450SA. (very different layout/frames, and head for example)

The date we are quoting is late October or late Fall.

There was a reference to August, but this was an error in getting a date updated through the mainframe... it only updates overnight. We put a note in the gallery to cover this... the new date should drop in overnight. Sorry for any confusion.

Have fun,
David

Im sure we will really see the differences once it arrives....
you have any specifics on the differences in the dx6 tx and this one being included with the B400? ( dx6i )

I'm wondering if this new bird is a Blade CP,etc. on steroids...
I can't tell, as I don't own one of them...but if it is, might
it be just as difficult (for some) to fly as the CP?...just a thought..

that is a kickbutt price for preordering. The DX6i is a DX6 that has been converted to DSM2 technology and has the 5 point throttle and pitch curves........very nice! Is HH selling just the TX and Rx combo?
As far as the DS75's for servos..... not impressed, they are fine for the CP's and CPP's but for a 450 class heli better servos are needed. The G110 gyro, I have no experience with it but it would probably work just fine. I hear alot of good things about the G90 by Eflite so I am sure it has plenty of holding power.
I will say that Horizon has a great reputation of standing behind thier products and delivering economical helis that have introduced scores of heli pilots to the CCPM world. I own a number of Blade CP's and also A CX2 as well as a couple other brands of helis. I like the Blade series for its simplicity and ease of use and fixing. I will always have a Blade or 2 on the shelf and they fly just fine indoors and outdoors in proper conditions.
The 400 3d looks like a sound heli for the price and is in no way a CP on steroids. Larger is more stable and will handle the outdoor environment loads better. I didn't see what kind of tail driven setup it has...... Belt or Shaft? I hope its belt driven as shaft drives are inherently more fragile and prone to breaking easier.
I will be curious to see what share of the market this heli gets and what head and tail parts are interchangeble with other proven designs.

If you go to Horizon Hobby's website you can see some of the spare parts they have listed for it...it's a belt driven tail. I was so close to ordering a DX7 last week and trying to make my BCPP a bit easier to handle, glad I held off a bit. Will hopefully get familiar with it some entry aerobatics by the time this is on the market.
