I just wanted to add, that those distances I show in the photo aren't the length of the struts.. They are the distance from the very bottom of the fuse to the top of the spredder, at the center of the fuse.. If that makes sense ....

Yes I use flaps for everything ... Takeoff and landing... They definately do slow the plane down..

Thanks Darren. We fly at 6ooo ft elev and flaps really help. I just haven't used them for take off. It should help it get on the step a little quicker. Rich

Darren,

Question for you, What floats do you have on you Turbo Beaver and where could i get a set built RTU or foam cores or even just plans for wooden ones.

I am getting mine one of these days and would like to put it on floats for next winter season and some float flying during summer...

Thanks
Sammy

My floats are Great Planes 60 size sport floats.. All ply and balsa... I liked them they have never leaked, but I did cover them with .5oz glass cloth.. Easy to build too...

Hey thanks man!, i never realized the 60sz GP floats would be sufficient for 8' T Beavers, are these close to scale floats or just good rc floats..

Now what about all the frame work for mounting, did you scratch built them or could get them from LHS ready to assemble.

Can anyone point me in gas engine choice for the model. I know a modeler selling Ryobi 28 with CH electronic Ignition that i am very much interested in due to price for this model. Would this 28cc motor be sufficient for this model with floats. Your input will help me make final decision on its power plant. Thanks

If the Robi has as much power as a Zenoah 26 it should be fine. Rich

Hi Rich,

It's actually Ryobi 31 corrected by the present owner/seller. I think i should be ok with 31cc then if only 26cc is required. Thanks Rich..
