I can't find a dang thing on the 4-tec for aftermarket CVD's and the stock ones just keep breaking with this 3.3 powerplant. I've thought about trying to get some made up since they are soo short too, seems that it would be simple to do. Anyone got ideas/thoughts??

i think you would need a machine specifically for cvd's or a CAD machine which costs thousands of dollars.

You can use a lathe and a mill. You wouldn't need a $50k machine for a 2 inch long piece.

I bought the Jato CVD kit that MPI makes and everything fits except the bones are too long. I cut the bones down to 1.400" and put the two ends in a round vise and tig welded the pieces together. We then put the bones in a rotary to check for straightness and they were perfect. I only did the rear since that was the end giving me problems. $35 and my time/welding was all it took. The old saying, " if there's a will, there's a way"!

How about using something like this from boats drilling out the hole so you can use a larger diameter steel rod . http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJD82&P=0

nitrohead, the only thing about that is it is Nylon. I wanted pure steel or aluminum from front to back so that I couldn't be mad at myself for short cutting this at all.

My bad man I was thinking they were metal. I can't remember where I saw some like that except they were metal but it looks like you already solved the problem any way!!

Impressive. Are those 1/8th rear foams?

Yes, they are 1/8th scale Mugen wheel/tires with the wolf pack radical adapters. The home modded CVD's are still holding up

Send me a busted one (or give me all the measurements) and I'll see if I can't make a heavy duty one.

Thanks Nuke. The measurement is 1.5" from end to end "BUT" the end that slides into the output shafts are big. They are the MIP Jato ends.

I actually need bigger diamter than the ones that I made up because I did snap one of the modded ones but I don't think I had enuff heat when welding it. The break was clean where I welded at and there was no heat stains showing signs of melting steel together. I can send you an end to see what you can do. The MIP bones are .130 but are too skinny. I would need .190 to .200 to make sure that they wouldn't break or cause any problems.
