I run one on my Savage and it has held up very well but I will say they are not the best but they are cheap. Some have had problems with them either being bad out of the package or not holding up well.

No you do not need any special tools and any diff oil will work. Sorry to say more then likely if I ever get anything with 6 gear diffs I will sell them on ebay and go with the 4 gear.
Are you sure they come on the Hyper ST Pro?

The spider gears are more agressive and make thinner oils run thicker, more surface. But they are more expensive to replace/repair. I'd rather have all the same diffs, easier on parts supply.

spider I guess are better cause you have more contact in there, kinda like going from 2 gears to 4. Should last forever too. I am scared of change too.

I disagree that 6 are better. More rotating mass, more points of failure, diff oil conversions all the time. (like mentioned above, if you run 10,000 in a 4 gear, you would need 8000 in a 6 gear). Not to mention the top competition cars don't use 'em so they're obviously not necessary.

I never ran the 6 gear diffs but have talked to many that have and the majority did not like them. They said they are VERY heavy like Foxy said rotating weight is a big HP eater and was told they are HIGH Maintenance! Most of those that like them said they only run them in the front. I have WELL over 8 gallons on my 4 gear diffs on my Hyper 8 and yet have had a problem or breakage.

Mine came as a kit
Not the easiest to build but not the hardest either (manual a little complex in places) still took 2 nights and she was ready to go.
Stuck a new Mac .28 in her with 2 Towerpro servos and a MX3 radio. 7000 front 10000 centre and 3000 rear for the diff oil and running thin shock oil.

Not raced it yet but taken it to the bmx track, she seems to handle the bumps really well, very stable in the air and the stock tyres are actually worth keeping (OMG!). Had 1 massive stack and the wheel flew off, though 'crap broken the font c-hub but luckily it was just a result of me not doing the nut up tight enough:P

Nothing broken yet after 2 litres

Any updates? Pics? Videos?

How do you like its' performance so far?

Had its first race the other week, took pole in the B grade (my skills are not that good). Came 2nd in both races out of 8 truggies, racing against a few LSP's, 2 8T's a few Mugens and a Mayhem.
Using stock tyres the car turns quite well on a dusty track, very smooth landings, no bounce and it rides the ruts very nicely.

The racing was great BUT after the racing finished I decided to take it back out for a few more laps, I got out of shape on a corner and a Hellfire T-boned me, not hard but it dislodged the fricken battery pack which I had zip tied into its crappy Hyper 7 battery holder.
Watched in horror as my baby took off (luckily at half speed) into a safety fence. Broke the front arm and c-hub. Not expensive or major but I'm going to complain to hobao about this ****house battery holder they are using. Hyper 8's have a far superior system. Even the LSP which has been our for years is better.

Other than that they are a great truggy and I prefer it to the 8T, it looks like a truggy, the 8T looks like some skinny peace of fluro piping with wheels on it.
