Thanks for your graphics tippy:
Although that the shaft center is not at the same distance that the aileron and pitch, the radius is always the same. In theory when we apply the same amount of distance to the three servos that move the swash plate, they will travel the same distance up and down, the difference will be appreciated when only one of the servos is actuated up, then the other will partially have to raise or lower but the travel will be different. The 140o swash plate idea is to compensate the travel of the servos and make this swash plate more natural to move increasing then the final results. In the real world, as you mentioned this kind of differences tend to be minimal in the heli behavior leaving only to the Pro Pilots its benefits. As technology advances, al of this upgrades tend to make our helis better and behave more stables with high possibilities of a great performance in 3D areas. I have had the opportunity to fly several helis on the sim programs G2 and G3 by Great Planes and there are a lot of difference between this two simulators, obviously they tend to make the flight pattern more real and I have found easier to fly an heli on the G3 program version.
New radios like futaba 12 with fasst technology has going a little more far with up to 8 swash plate configurations, that let us know that the final word is not written yet but we are very closer to the real thing.
Some helis that are in the market by now, like raptors and Kinetic 50 from HeliMax have not a CCPM configuration but they are 3D capable at a certain point. Maybe CCPM could make them perform better but as I said before, for a Sunday flier the differences will be barely noticeable.

Thanks:

Alfred.

WOW, complex. Now I know why a raptor frame costs $$$$$$$. guess it would be a good idea to understand the physics... of it and then find out how it works, complex.

With the whole "variable blade pitch" why can't you rev up the motor instead (save on serovs...)

If you want to fly any 3D or inverted then negative pitch is needed also so a fixed pitch would not work .
Other than that I have absolutely nothing of value to add to this thread , it is making my head hurt ...LOL

Shhh! My Titan doesn't know its limited in its 3d performance. You could tell the Raptor 90 was holding Alan Szabo back too

definately, would make sense to use V pitch to make it work.

I just review what they send me

Look for that in a couple weeks, I'm putting it together now, probably test fly this week, video next weekend at the field, then its a matter of doing the layout, sizing the photos ect and compiling the video. After that its up to the RCU braintrust.

Its a Trex 450SA with ESC and motor from Align from http://www.amainhobbies.com

The mini titan will be next up after that.

Um....I'm way to lazy for all that.

I can tell you that if you set your default login to helicopters then you will see the new reviews on your home page when you log in.

I also usually post something in the forums when a review goes live.

ok, thanks. Just currious as heli's are soooooooooo cool. any good suggestions as an upgrade from a CX, PLEASE NO MICROS. feel free to PM your ideas to me.
EDIT: pics of how CCPM works on a full size people carrying heli. it came from the way things work, helicopters, sadly it has no diagram on how the paddles work (which I guess are only really on models)

Andrew: I have been reading and getting some info about certain products, I am very interested on reading what you did not like about the product that you are reviewing. By now I do consider your reviews very honest and even that the bucks are burning my hands I will try to keep them till I read the Trex review. There is one more problem here I see that you will review also the Thunder T. Mini Titan, I have the idea that it is also a great product I hope you could do a comparison later on the forums.

Calvino: You won't believe it but I am not really an electric fan. I have this little CP Pro which is very hard to fly, even that I am now hovering and flying somewhat better everyday I have to say that I do it much better on the nitro ones in the Sim. The real fact is that I can carry an electric heli in my car's trunk and stop at any park and fly the heli, even this little electric heli have helped me to spend more time with my children on weekends, of course I miss the flying field, the buddies and my huge collection of nitro planes, most of them are 4 stroke Saito powered planes and I love them but I also love my little kids and want to stay with them a little longer and have found that with electrics I can go to the park with them, playing with the kids and having some flights with the electric heli. I was thinking on buying a Nitro Heli Max Kinetic 50 but because of the reasons that you now know I am now focusing in this Trex SA.

Thanks.
