Ultimately..Something like the Aurora45s would be super nice...But I think Singapore Hobbies has run out of those MK Kits...Thus they are no longer available...You may shoot them an e-mail just to confirm?? http://www.singahobby.com/
Have you tried the SPA website? There is a list of balastic plane of the era before the cutoff date in 1976. There is also a list of kit manfacturers where you can purchase the short kits or even some ARCs or ARFs. I have built a Troublemaker from Eureka and have posted a picture of it here. I have it powered with a 91 magnum four stroke. Hope this helps you find what you are looking for. The link for the SPA website is :
I love old-school but they are kits and hard to find- I actually got ahold of a Global Avance with retracts and it flew very well and was quick as well. I am not typically a fan of Global but I got a kick out of that thing!
The Ultrasport would be a great fit, it'd be nice if the Javelin was a tad smaller/lighter for the YS, man I love the YS-45!
To be honest I am looking for pretty much the same kind of airframe as you--- [;)]
Piped with retracts although I prefer 60 size (YS-60RE). basically Ballistic pattern ship with retracts & pipe, as it should be!

Hey...Are you interested in scratch building?? You sound like a candidate for an Aurora45s..he he
I could hook you up with drawings ect...
There is an Awesome build thread by Bootlini who is scratch building a Aurora60 for referance...His will be electric powered!! It's Kewl..
Eventually I wanna build a mold and do a glass fuse of the Aurora's...But that will be a wintertime project (Hopefully)...(Which wintertime has yet to be determined...lol...But hopefully this up coming)
Singapore hobbies may still have Belly Pans and Canopys available for the 45...They did last time I checked but that's been a while ago...If not...I'll be splashing mine so we can re-produce them...I could do that anytime...The Fuse mold will necessitate making a master model...So that will be later on...
Here are some photos so you can see what I'm talking about...

Carolina Custom Aircraft (Dan)...Deadstick is his screen name around here...No website that I'm aware of...If you'll message him he'll send you his information...He offers some Kewl Aircraft already in production...He's talking about kitting the Aurora also...Havn't heard an update lately...
(I want a Summitt III and one of those LA-1's would be sooo schweet too...he he...We just need more rain around here...My Money Tree is all dried up...lol)
