I've had a bunch of STS engines and I've popped a bunch of cranks. STS replaced every single one so I didn't really mind. Would I trust an STS engine enough to race one? Not until I see some positive feedback. Would I bash one? No doubt. My old LST powered by the D30M was sicking fast, especially on top. In a wide open field it was just sick, put a hurting on my friends LRP's, P3's... The 30 has better top end than my 928, but the 928 had a much better powerband and throttle responce. I know drag racing doesn't mean all that much but I've owned alot of engines and the 30 reved like a .21 and was flat out fast, fast, fast. My 30 had 5 gallons on it and it was still getting better & better. STS will have to make some changes as they go. They tried to offer really affordable engines, but they are starting to realize that they need to use better parts and charge a little more. The cranks were junk and the carbs are even worse. Once STS gets things worked out people will be happy. The engines will easily keep up with anything out there, they just need the reliability to match the speed. I want to see GO offer a .28 as my 5 port GO .21 has been what STS is striving for, speed + reliability + cheap = win!
