159.99 dollar for a STS motor??? are they nuts????????? with about 25 dollars more i could buy a PICCO 28 P3 team factory........(bump start turbo head version) and it will outlast those cheap STS motors 100 times over...........

ive seen those STS motor snap so many cranck shafts its not even funny.............i personally wouldnt run one not even if they gave it to me free............ive seen them run at my local track and on the street and i wasnt impressed at all they couldnt hang ..........there where good to buy for 100 dollars blow it and throw it away but now 159.99 dollars???? i knew they where going to UP the price once they got a little fame.............and in the end ur going to pay 159 bucks for a crappy 100 dollar motor

i feel bad for the people who buy this motor get ready to see "I BLEW MY STS TRUGGY ENGINE MOTOR "threads poping up everywhere

How many STS engines have you owned or are you just flapping your gums? LOL

none and i will never buy one..........ive seen them in person ran by people that I KNOW THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING and come back 2 or 3 weeks later with a busted bearing, or crank shaft......u have 4 and uve bein very lucky..........but its just a matter of time before u blow it ........i know the sponser you so u have to speak good about them but you have to admit they do have problems........ive never had a AIR LEAK with my high end motors and i own many............i dont see how a haveing to seal your own motor before useing it can be justified as a "QUALTIY "motor

for the money when they cost 100 bucks they where well worth it i but it you blow it and throw it away.......but for the money they are asking for this one its no where near worth it........like i sayed the picco 28 P3 will outlast it 100 times over......

one thing i cant agree with is why the suddent raise in price......its the same motor with just a diffrent cut on the crank and ports for a diffrent timming............but in the end it still cost the same to make it at the 100 ones..........i dont think STS can justify the raise in price unless that materials used where better.........

If I am not mistake you are all so the one that had many problems with the Axial 28 every one talks about how good it is! I can tell several stories of problems with Picco engines but no need. Like I all ways say run what makes you happy as I do.

Yea everyone says the axial motor is great bla bla bla..........and it too is the biggest POS on earth.....i had mine for not even a month and sold it to a friend...........the carburators get locked at WOT when the motor is warmed up to temp PLUS the threads on the needles suck and the MIDDRANGE neadle would fall out.........PLUS my seals in the carb broke and it would blwo fuel out of the HSN..........ill never recomend a AXIAL motor to anyone.........biggest waste of money peroid

and about the picco motor there GOOD the picco 28 P3 is one of the best motors on the market if u talking about problems the only picco with problems is the 26 MAXX that one is a POS and leaks air threw the bearings........but the PICCO 28 P3.......is a totally diffrent animal............and ive yet to find any problems with mine or any of my friends

in the end i feel you get what u pay for.....hey 46U is STS useing new metals??? is that why they upped the price???

now that was funny
All joking aside, engines are apparantley a sensative subject.
If any of us did not run an engine we heard some one having problems with, than we would be pushing our cars around the track. Hell, not even engines, just read the forum, everything sucks!

Guys,

Sorry to high jack this thread but what would you prefer on some dudes who have experience with between this engine and the Axial .28RR?

If only money is not a concern I would have not even bother asking this question.. tsk tsk.

I've had a bunch of STS engines and I've popped a bunch of cranks. STS replaced every single one so I didn't really mind. Would I trust an STS engine enough to race one? Not until I see some positive feedback. Would I bash one? No doubt.

My old LST powered by the D30M was sicking fast, especially on top. In a wide open field it was just sick, put a hurting on my friends LRP's, P3's... The 30 has better top end than my 928, but the 928 had a much better powerband and throttle responce. I know drag racing doesn't mean all that much but I've owned alot of engines and the 30 reved like a .21 and was flat out fast, fast, fast. My 30 had 5 gallons on it and it was still getting better & better.

STS will have to make some changes as they go. They tried to offer really affordable engines, but they are starting to realize that they need to use better parts and charge a little more. The cranks were junk and the carbs are even worse.

Once STS gets things worked out people will be happy. The engines will easily keep up with anything out there, they just need the reliability to match the speed.

I want to see GO offer a .28 as my 5 port GO .21 has been what STS is striving for, speed + reliability + cheap = win!

Ive yet to see a STS spank my picco 28 P3 or my novarossi 528............when i see that i will shut my mouth and never speak of this again!!! i know the STS can keep up.......but why keep up???? i rather just blow everyone else out of the water!!!

about the picco's............the only ones that are good are the new EVO 21 and the P3............all the other picco suck too..........and that i will agree with.........that light blue head 21 picco is the biggest garbage on this earth!!!!! i just ordered my 3rd PICCO 28 P3 for a LST2 racer that i will be seting up for the MT class at my local track i really got into this offroad racing scene...........

i have several P3 28's, a Ninja 28...a Picco P7 EVO 2..... my P3 28's are both modded

Anyways the STS 30 is the king of the drag race, no question...on top end a 528 and P3 28 dont compete withthe STS 30.. the Ninja 28 may run with the 30 though.... the STS doesnt have the powerband like the Italians, but it makes more power and RPM without question...IMHO the STS 30 is the fastest motor on the planet ! stock for stock a STS 30 does beat up on a P3 28 pretty badly, the P3 28 ha terible top end compared to the 30.....I dont bother running STS engines any more , but i still have ot recognize the power these motors make........

So its still the same garage but the chagned the timing and they expect more money for that low qualtiy motor.............what a joke..............i can ALMOST GARANTEE it costs exactly the same to make it as the other STS..........factory cost is probably in the upper 40 USD........

3 novarossi 528's
3 picco 28P3's
1 OS 30Vg (on ebay i didnt like it)
1 21 OS V-Sec
1 mach 427
1 ninja 21 offroad
1 mega 21 onroad
1 mega 15 big block
and im geting the ninja 28 in a few weeks once i build my LST2

and thats just at the monent ive tryed almost every motor on the market since i DO WORK AT A HOBBY SHOP and tune and repair motors on a regular baises.......im not over critical im just leting people that NO THEY ARE NOT GOOD MOTORS!!!!!!! i dont know why you even made a statment if you dont even run there motors!!!! if your a OS fan good for you they make 100,000 times better motors than STS
