Thunderbirdjunkie on the forums here has one but do not think he has much run time on it yet.

Sorry do not have a truggy right now but hope to get a Hyper ST sometime. Being the 5 port 28 is not legal for a buggy and does not have a pull starter having nothing to put it in. They are testing running a pull starter on one and if it comes out might get one for my race Savage. Right now I have 4 STS engines two D21B one 3 port 28 in my Savage and a D21T MKII which I am going to start 2008 session with in my buggy.

All the carbs on the STS big blocks are the same just that the 21 size engines have a removable venture in them. Take it out and you should be fine. Do you have another big block STS engine? If so by all means try the other carb.

One other thing I thought of is, what if the exhaust pipe I am using dosn't provide enough pressure to keep the fuel line at full pressure, right now I am using a jp 2 and i know sts recommends that you use their pipe. Is this a possibilty??? maybe the sts flow's better air to the carb.

I would think if this was the problem you would see air bubbles in your fuel line and is way I asked you this question earlier. I am not running STS pipe with my 28. If you have another pipe you can all ways try it? What are you running the engine in?

Just about every brand motor recommends running there pipe if they make one no surprise.

I'm breaking in a 5 port, I just converted it to a rotostart.

As for the temps in the .28 3 port, All I can say is leaky carb o-ring or another air leak. I haven't run a 3 port, but I've sealed up every STS engine I've run.

46u, when people use teflon tape, they usually use it around the threads. I run the green slime though.

and MiamisFinest...We ain't getting engines for free. I was an STS fan pre-Mark importing them.

This kinda reminds me of guys with modified cars, particularly a young guy I work with that has a hot rod Monte Carlo I work with...you put all this money into something you KNOW is gonna be high maintenance, then you piss and moan when it breaks but you spent way less than everybody else, and still outran them? come on.

OH, and another thing...my D28M 5 port has what appears to be a STEEL throttle pull. HUZZAH, praise be to the taiwanese guy that made that decision!

I wish we would get some rain, as it has been so long I forget what it looks like. We are over 30 inches behind.

Some said they had trouble with the brass throttle pull so they started making them out of steel. I think some over tightening the setscrew, so far I have not had a problem.

it's better than brass because it's a harder material. Also, when I pulled my .30 out of the box, the throttle pull was loose...I tried to tighten it, but the threads ripped right out. That's why it's better

I recently bought a Hobao Hyper Truggy from Ebay. It is in semi kit form(Not the Pro). You dont get radio gear but everything else. The guy sells the kit with either a .28 or .30 STS motor.
I paid £250 for .30STS & Rolling kit which I think should be an exccelent combo.
