Lymph -> Lipo Help - (new to electric rc) (8/13/2007 3:33:33 AM)

Looking at getting some lipos for my maba 6900 1/10 system for a touring car.

the only real brand option for me is flightpower, just wanted to know if anyone had any comments on:

Flightpower 25C 2SP1 7.4v 3700mah Lipo

Thats the battery im looking at, but I dont really understand wether i need a rc car batterie or will any lipo with the right voltage do the trick?

i know mah relates to how long the batt can give said power and C relates to how quick it can give that power. but is there something different between say, car/plane lipos?

Thanks.

if you're under about 70A or so on max cont discharge, and the 3700mAh is enough time for you, then you should be good.

nope, no difference. Somtimes in cars they put them in cases though so they wont get damaged. If you do that, just be sure and watch the temps.

Thanks!

Castle Creations reccommended that the above motor would run best on 100A constant, the above battery is 97A constant so it should do the trick.

sounds like you're gona need a bit bigger pack. If the 2s lipo is what is made for that motor, then you will need a 5000mAh or (100A / 25C's / 80% for pack over rating and wear compensation)

thanks again, this is my first lipo pack so I didnt want to spend too much, it should give me about 15min+ run time at the correct power, so i think its a good start now that I know theres no diff between lipos for car/planes ect.
