Is it christmas time yet....lol
The build looks good vnmsgt, I to think it might be a bit hard to see in a night race but should be ok. I like loud screaming color florecnt color that way they can see me and get the hell out of the way, or see me moven over so they can pass me.
I like the older str bodies more than the new ones, just my taste. New paint gun for christmas so I'll have more done up soon. Im going to cut the red-white and blue body out tomarrow and just place it on my str for picture purposes then sell it on ebay.
If I get better with this new air brush, I'll hook you guys up with some low priced painted bodies if anyone is interested.
Merry christmas and happy holidays to everyone.

Looks great vnmsgt, a question though, are you not running a front sway bar?, or have you just not installed it yet? I'm assuming you haven't installed it yet, coz the front bumper is missing also. Colours look awesome, maybe wont stand out much on the track though.

Actually after looking closer, I see you haven't completely finished the truck in those photo's as the body has no body post holes either. Once you run it, let us know what you think

I thought I was missing two parts for the front swaybar so did not install it but realized I put the swaybar holders together wrong and they used two different pieces instead of the same and now have the swaybar on and thats the other reason I did not have the front bumper on so I can install the holders for the front swaybar. No I got it all done with holes cut and everything.

I did have blue dye, it says it was royal blue but the box was like a dark blue so was not sure if it would match so I did not try it. Thanks to you for the info on how to dye. I hate to have to get it dirty but oh well. They are so pretty when new

I figured it might be hard to see in a night race but could not resist the urge to make it black. I have seen some other truggies in mostly black and thought they looked awesome. I would be interested in a nice st-r body from you for my Monsoon when you get one I would like.

Vnmsgt, are you going to break in the engine with those tires on? definatly will be buying another set of tires/wheels running those on the street buy the time the engine is broke in.

As someone stated earlier, It would be cheaper to buy the entire RR kit rather than convert it. Take it from one that has done it already, it cost me way more than I intended to pay.

All i wanted to do was get the chassis, kingheadz chassis brace, long shaft, and the bigbore shocks can wait. I can find these items cheap on ebay and get the kingheadz brace for cheap at GShobby. I got the st-rr wind mount on the way with the parts i ordered. Isnt that all i would need to have a st-rr after i get the bigbore shocks or are there other differences?

The motor is actually broke in already. I took it out of a robitronic mantis I just sold so I do not have to suffer during a break in period.

The st-rr has chromoly diff gears and chromoly axles and driveshafts. Other than that and the stuff you mentioned then you would have the same I would guess.

Lucky you, im not looking forward to the breakin period at all. The diff gears and axles dont matter to me, as long as the other stuff is on it I would say im good to go with a st-rr. I can get the chromoly diff gears and stuff if i blow a diff as a replacement.

Also what would you guys recommend for diff fluids for bashing purposes.. or should i just put in the same as mentioned a few pages back? Have no idea what the truck is filled with now since i got it used and forgot to ask the guy about it.

If it were me I would not spend the money and replace those either unless they brake too.

wsx power coat, I use it on my diff gears before I build them. This stuff is great, its a fine powder and its super slick. I have yet to blow a diff with this stuff applied. The stuff is kinda pricey but last forever, 25 buck an ounce.
If you get the big bores youll need the diffrent front/rear shafts.

LOL How'd you guess!

Considering the Diffs were the first thing I tackled I needed the bevel and pinions right away.

now I have the diffs half built waiting on Tony's screws lol.
