Pro, run the break in again when you change to 30%. Not the whole break in steps just the first two tanks. First tank running fat next tank not quiet as fat third tank a bit closer to race settings and then your good to go.
I havent yet shimmed a .21 for running 30% fuel and have never had any issues. Most .21 are set for 30% fuel and perform much better running on 30 than they do on 20, I even do my break ins on 30%. If you have 20 and its just sitting and needs used, I see no problem with usen it up then going to 30.

Ok thanks for that Nascar.

I should probably get down to half a gollon through the truck today. Seems to be fairly nice outside and I only need to idle one more tank through the engine. My break in im doing:
1) Idle a tank of fuel through the engine then let cool with piston BDC, do this 3-4 tanks, making sure engine doesnt reach above 210 degrees F.
2) run 3-4 more tanks on the street using no more than 1/4th throttle and temps not rising more than 210.
3)2-3 more tanks with no more than 1/2 throttle
4)2-3 more tanks with no more than 3/4 throttle and lean 1/8th a turn.
5) fine tune for performance if needed.

This procedure will take longer than most others but I think the wait is well worth it. Any thoughts on this much appreciated.

temps arent reach nowhere near 200F. just idled a 3rd tank in it and highest temp was 155F. Is this ok? It is on the rich side a bit but If im not reaching 200F then it seems as im not getting anywhere.

you can wrap the head in aluminum foil to help the temps rise. I like running my rc's around as apposed to just sitting in one spot. Just putter it around no more than 1/4 throttle first few tanks, then 1/2 throttle for then next 2 or 3 tanks (leaning the hsn 1/8 turn or 2 hours between tanks) then small high speed runs, wot for just a few seconds. After about 8 tanks it should be good to go, it will still be tight and hard to turn over but race ready. Just try to keep the temp around 200 until you hit tank number 9 or 10.
Let engine cool down between the first 4 tanks of fuel. Then if you want you can run the next 4 tanks without a break, just keep filling the tank. Easy on the throttle, thats the hard part. Breaking the engine in on a track is the best way but just running it in the yard works too.
I consider it broke in after 10 tanks but it never hits top performance till its sucked down about a gallon, then you can tune for performance 240 degrees is what my v spec likes and the axe rossi mamba like 250.

No need for the foil trick now because temps outside have rised and it feels in the mid 60s and the sun is out.

ran the 4th on the street just now. Seemed fine and then before I shut it off it started idling eratically. Is that normal for it to idle funny at times during breakin? Temps reached 180F this time. Going out when it cools off again. I'll be glad when this breakin period is over.

Also need to readjust the werks clutch again because its not engaging right away and making the engine build up rpm some.

some mills will act a little weird during break in..everyone does there's differently, but do not expect or try and tune the mill before she is broken in....

Yeah, no worries. It may start to rev higher the lower the fuel gets. With a full tank there is more pressure and the lower the tank gets the lower the pressure gets. This is seen more on break ins and isnt that noticable when racing.Racing your on it hard for the qualifying runs or mains, break ins is alot of low rpms and lower pressures, thats one of the main reasons for the rich fuel mixtures.
Were in the lower 60 today but its just to muddy to run anything. I was going to take the revo out but really dont want to clean it up afterwards..lol
Sounds like its going pretty smoothly.

well all was going well until The truck cut off(on the 5th tank now). When I went back to the starterbox to set it on and start it up I notice a clicking sound coming from the front in. I took everything in the house and took the front end off. When I took the housing off around the diff there was alot of metal shavings in there. Looks like I striped the pinion gear. Oh well i guess. Will order that and other stuff next week. Think I will start looking for a parts truck soon so when random things liek this happens I will be prepared.

Was the problem the shims on the diff or the bevel and pinions on the drivetrain?
How can the gears strip on break in, you weren't even close to beating on the trug.

When the cop pulls you over doing 160 mph, and asks if you knew how fast you were going say, "yep i had cruise control on".

have no idea, all I know is the gear that turns the Diff gear(pinion gear right?) is messed up and theres metal peices all in the inside of the diff case. I remember seeing whole diff sets on ebay so I think I will look for those again.

nice stuff Escalade.

here some pics of the problem i mentioned.

metal shavings from the spiral gear and mayb from the big diff gear also.

the spiral gear, probably can see what im talking about but I can see where it got shreded a bit.

Will go ahead and get the chrome moly gears for front and rear and thats the first step to my next project in a project.

Might throw the engine/pipe, in the CRT just so i can finish breakin ...
