Any of you guys running the Kyosho st-rr? I didn't see a separate thread for it.

I wanted to try something different as I'm not happy with my clutch exploding servo eating Losi.

What upgrades, if any, are needed out of the box? How do you like it?

Any good tutorials out there on how to shims these diffs?

Thanks

haha.. i think i know who pklotking is. And yes this rb will beat that modded os, either that or driving skillz will tell who gonna come out on top. but if it ever stops raining i can get some more tanks in on break-in.

Mtbk, so your saying its not needed huh.

And TB your saying they look good so basically its more of a looks thing in my case since i got the k factory mount already.

Nascar, i agree those knuckles even feel cheap when i installed new ones. Next order I place with amain, those kh knuckles will have to be on the list. Good to know that sirio is running so good becuase it seems they are overlooked or forgotten nowadays.

No I like the quick change feature as well, but so far thats the only + besides being pretty

When the cop pulls you over doing 160 mph, and asks if you knew how fast you were going say, "yep i had cruise control on".

Running mine pretty much stock, its a converted strr from a str. Only upgrade is the bce chassis. Tweedy has a strr hopped to the max, If I remember right, just about everything has been hopped up. Its not needed but it sure is perrrty.
As for shimming, 2 on the drive side, some may vary just a bit but its a simple fix. Outside of folks saying they cost to much, thats the only bad thing Ive heard about them.
I started last year with a mbx5t and went to the strr in aug. Its better than the 5t imo and I havent broken anything. My crt pro I was snapping rear a arm, sold it went to the 5t now Im hooked on kyosho.
Cant speak on the losi line, but they do eat servos, adam drake lost one in the silver state race. Losi has issues to fix in that aspect.

Looking real nice TB.

I ran in 3 more tanks of fuel yesterday and during the 3rd tank, temps reached 240. And today i ran 1 1/2 tanks and buy the time i got half way through the 2nd tank, temps went to 250! The RB has 10 tanks through it now so is this a good operating temp? It hasnt seen full throttle and still running rich.

Oh, and 1 of the screw holes in the engine mounts striped out, so thats a good excuse to need to buy the KH engine mount.

Seem a little high to me, especially if still running rich and no full throttle runs, but then again, I've never run an RB engine of any description. Hope you dont have an airleak somewhere.

TB,

That is a sweet ride, no doubt. Just one question, what is that thing sitting just outside the throttle servo, is it onboard telemetery, or a regulator or something?

Its a voltmeter, just tells me how much juice is left in my onboard pack.

thanks for the welcome fellas. I am running the st rr with the O.S. .28 and jr servos and I picked up the spectrum dx3r radio. I have driven about 15 tanks through it. I run 20% because the engine is modded and I think it may be overkill. Untill I get the diffs right and learn how to drive on a track better I'll have to use 20%. As soon as I find out how I will post pics.

Would anyone have the inside battery compartment dimensions on the ST-RR? I'm going to order a custom made ultra long life receiver batt and want to make sure its going to fit.

Thanks!
