Get this. I ran a rb c5bb last year, about 1 gallon through it and the blasted thing wouldnt idel or run worth a crap. I got so mad at it I bought a ninja and the rb has been sitting on my ork bench in pieces for over a year now.
Some odd reason, I figured I would piece it back together and see what happens. I used air tool oil on the parts as I was putting it together. The only thing I replace on the engine was the small metal O rings between the carb nipple and a new glow plug.
I took it out and it fired right up. A little bit of tuning and it ran fine, like a new engine. This was without load (no tires) sitting on a starter box. I just figured it wouldnt start and I could then toss it out. I was very suprised. Chargen the starter box now so I can try it with a load and run it aroung for a while and see what happens.
Very stoked about this. This rb was broarder line insane. Just to think, I almost turned it into a 350 dollar ash tray.

Would have been a waste to throw it away, after 1 gallon and it doesnt run right would have been a reason to check it out. Hope it runs well in whatever truck/buggy you put it in.

Well it's getting pretty close to an ST-R now, waiting on some steering linkage parts, and dynamite hard anodised pipe to arrive but it's getting there.

ProRCRacer88 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (9/5/2007 4:56:49 PM)

Looks just like my truck but better because you have and engine and servos on yours.[:D] I need to get mines on the road but now i have a Jammin CRT on the way with .27 Sirio in it. Seems like everytime i start a project i end up getting off coarse into somethig else and then it takes longer to complete.[8|]

mtbkym01 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (9/12/2007 9:03:33 AM)

well my pipe and other bits arrived today including a crowd pleazer 2 and high downforce wing. The proline body is so much thicker than an st-r body, probably twice as thick, gotta think about a paint scheme for it now. Here's my truck now, just waiting on some fuel to break in the LRP.

ProRCRacer88 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (9/12/2007 3:24:36 PM)

Thats looking good. Wont be long before i can order the engine, pipe, and a few others for the st-r when i get rid of the serpent. I have the RB928 w/ pipe combo in mind but that might change.

mtbkym01 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (9/12/2007 8:39:45 PM)

That'll be a beast with the RB 928 in it, keep us updated.

mtbkym01 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (9/14/2007 8:33:48 AM)

Does anyone know what offset dish wheels fit the ST-R, e.g. OFNA half offsets etc....?

OK, I think I just found my answer....standard (0mm) offset

My chassis just arrived this minute, tooks photos straight away.

For the price, It looks pretty good, 7075 CNC aluminium, all machining, including countersinking looks very neat, very happy at this stage, will have to wait and see how it performs, will keep you posted.

Update on this chassis guys, found this link over in the buggy forum warning about the quality of Dragon Racing parts, looks like i'm gonna learn the hard way, but thought i'd share this with everyone as a warning. It appears that the chassis are not made from 7075 as described. I still haven't run mine so i cant comment yet, time will tell, if it doesn't last, looks like a BCE will be ordered

i dont trust that bs that hongkong is selling on ebay, be best to go with something from a reputable maunfactuer.

mtbkym01 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (9/20/2007 8:40:44 PM)

Yeah, it's just that I got the chassis from a US ebay store, oh well, I'll live with it for now and see how it goes, how's your project coming along?

ProRCRacer88 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (9/21/2007 3:54:22 AM)

things are on pause at the moment and saving on a new car. also in the process of getting rid of rc's, but one rc thats surly to stay is the st-r.

mtbkym01 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (9/21/2007 6:58:53 AM)

Painted up the CP body, man it's tuff to cut out compared to Kyosho bodies, very stong, here's some pics, the Silver was first, followed by the Orange, and now the yellow. I love painting bodies, just costing me too much $$$

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (9/23/2007 5:27:31 PM)

Heres the new BCE extended pro chassis. I just about have all the stuff swapped over and should have pics of it finished later today.

ProRCRacer88 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (9/27/2007 3:57:11 AM)

good question... because i have no idea whats in mines..[:-]

Haulin bass -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (9/27/2007 4:31:02 AM)

I run 700-800 kyosho oils

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (9/28/2007 2:32:10 AM)

10/30/5 in mine. Mugen/traxxas/mugen. I'll do some talking friday night to some kyosho drivers and see what they can come up with. I know they were talking about mixing fluids to get like a 28 for the center diff, crazy stuff like that. It worked for him, he finished 10 in the truggy nats this year.
I'll get to test out the bce chassis too this weekend. I also got a lipo battery, 2000 mah pack. No more charging at the track, this thing will last 4 plus hours non stop. Im just worried about when it come to charging the d@mn thing. They are very picky and explode if its not charged right. Im still learning about them. If you have info please post. hey Pro,noticed your local, I picked up a used ST-R today and race at a local track in fredricksburg off route 17 where do y'all race
thanks okie

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (9/30/2007 5:06:57 AM)

18/28/3 diffs and 700/800 in shocks. They mix the stuff, I didnt get into details on how to mix the correct amounts to get those mixtures. Those are all kyosho oils.
I finished 3rd friday night, first time with the new chassis. It handles great, took all three qualifying rounds to get it figured out. It wanted to nose dive after the jumps, I just move the front shocks to keep it in the air and it worked for the night, 6th starting out ended 3rd.
I found Ryan Lutz set up sheet at kyosho usa.com but cant read it. I can make out some of it but not everything. Might check that site out for other set ups to try.

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (10/1/2007 2:16:10 AM)

Im waiting on the big bore shocks to come in, Im hopen this week. Mine will then be a strr for under 400 bucks. I need to find a body that will fit the longer chassis. The stock one for the str is ok, but it has extra holes in it from the stock chassis.
I just might pick up the strr after tax returns just to have one, but mines just fine for now. They are sweet looking though.
