Try a set of bow ties or even hole shots on the slick tracks. I ran a track in Ohio last year that wasslick, ran hole shots up front and bow ties in back, seemed to work well, but that was on the mbx5t.

I'm running Crimefighters on the Kyo and put the final break in tank on the o.s. when she broke loose and zoned in it was almost scary, but the tires held and the power tracked to all 4 wheels.
I was most impressed with them. The LPR's seem to hold up well in and out of the turns as well.

I went with the holeshots on the mugen, but have yet to see her on the track.

Yea we trying to eventually get good like the pros, just need the driving and tuning/setup skillz. I knew a little about suspension tuning for onroad cars, but offroad is not the same as far as i can see. I probably wont be driving my truck this weekend and im sending my controller off for a minor trigger issue next week, hopefully it will be back before next saturday. It was fun on the BMX track but all i did mostly at the time was go off the top of the halfpipe turn and drove in the feild.

Having engine overheat problems again, theres got to be an airleak somewhere and im not sure where it came from but im not too happy about that with the reputation RB engines have. This time I checked it with a temp sensor instead of the one on my controller.

Pro your running the 928 right? richen it up abit, you should be able to pull massive amounts of power out of that mill by running it rich and blowing good smoke all in all keeping it cool.
my os 28 is ripping and blowing good smoke at a 170 degrees, I'm almost hesitant on leaning it more :P

My I hate to hear you guys having problems with the RB motors.I have ran them for years with Odonald 30% and have had the best luck, knock on wood.I run at the race track every weekend and get a full session on all my motors.I have 3 motors now from previous sessions. As a matter of fact,I still have the first motor I ever owned but it does have a new piston, sleeve, rod and bearings. Its about done now, leaking oil out the front bearing, but it still holds a tune fine.

Not to mention RBs produce one of the most distictive sounds I've ever heard come out of a motor which is way cool.
Big head turner at the track.

I will try richen the hsn and leaning the lsn, for some reason i think that may be the case if there isnt an airleak. Im not giving up on the RB just yet. But i thought i would be out of the woods after it was broken in...

I changed the plug from a RB#6(medium) to a RB#7 (cold plug) and still run 20% o donnell.

Got the engine running pretty good and temps were around 190s. Drove it around in the yard some and my airtronics 94358 steering servo stripped out on me. I hope i can get it fixed or something so I can use it in something else. Im going to replace it with that JR 9100T servo that i been wanting. Or the JR 9000T... either one would be fine for me and both have 300+ oz torque.

Should be in the 220 range,Mine likes about 230 so I leave it alone.
How did you strip out an airtronics servo?I have wore out one,got real slow, but never stripped one in the truggy.I have on my super crawler but when you have 20 lbs. on an axle, drive it against a rock and try to turn, something has to give.[)]

I thought it was striped at first but it was the motor that went dead on me. When i had turned the car off it was making this strange whining noise and would not work anymore. I noticed it not turning all the way even when the batteries had a full charge at times, so had a feeling it was on its way out.

Starting to sound like me there Pro, not given up on the RB. I just got my C5BB running this weekend. The craziest thing, it had a 8mm restrictor in it, once it was pulled out its running fine now. Sold the sirio to my brother, 250 with sirio pipe and Im given this 3 year old rb a chance to impress me.
It was a good saturday of racing, I finished 2nd 3 laps down and 2 ahead of 3-4 place. My bro finished 2nd and 11 year old son finished 3 in buggies. Wife took second in monster class.
My rb seems to run well right at the 200 mark, kept fouling plugs in the 230-240 range. I just turned both high and low a couple hours till it started overloading, then started leaning it back out.
Not sure if the rb has the kick the sirio has, I just might pick up another sirio and run the rb as a back up.

Nascar, I cant imagine any engine running as good as it could with a restrictor in the carb in the first place, but they say they are needed for small tracks to tame the low end power on them. Sounds like you got your whole family are pro's, all placing in the top 3, good stuff. Mines runs good around the 200 mark too, i dont like to see engines get over 220F, but thats just me.

Sold some stuff yesterday alot quicker than i thought they would sell, meaning i posted 2 ads and both were sold within 3 hours they had been up.

restrictors are use taming the motor to a more usable power! theres no need to run them as hard as they can take, to much power will actually make you slower. a more usable level allows you put more traction down and keep wheel spin to a minimum! its all about traction out on the track, and runtime! thats the other reason most guys i know run the smaller restrictors. races are won on runtime.

my 2 cents.

Yeah, we all race, but the pit man has alot to do between the end of one friday night to the next. He gets to clean a truggy a buggy and a monster truck, poor guy.
Yeah, the restrictors are great if the carb is made to run them. It turns out rb had a couple of carbs for the c5bb when it came out. The one on my rb is the first type, no restrictors or it will not run. Craziest thing though, I dont know how it got place in the carb?
Engine temps are a fun thing to explain, so like the 220, 250 200 210. The mamba was a 250 engine, os likes the 230 and rb in the 220. Then the air temp and plug type, percent of fuel, alot, but its safe to say when you hit the engines sweet spot, you should be able to tell.
Next weekend is round one of the Illinois state series, I'll post a link for videos.
Oh yeah, I tossed 80 bucks for cnc knuckles, I busted my last right crap knuckle and the hobby shop had one left. No more issue with loosen front knuckles. I do have 5 left sides that are good....
