Im running 800, one bottle of the kyosho shock oil will do all four just barely. Im running the hard springs, dont bother with the purple one (soft) way to soft, blue ones are good too. Its hard to tell diffrence between 700 and 800 on the track, but the spring rates make night and day changes, spacers will also.

These Reckward tuning shocks are what im getting, and probably will get the soft ones too later when I place an order in the future.

Hey pro, keep us informed on how those springs work for you, they look very interesting - 4 springs in 1 they say

Hey 88 put it in the truggy and lets see if you can beat my os .28. I love O.S. engines thats all I buy but you all are right the speed is too pricy for me as well but this is what I am doing I have a stock vspec in my revo it needs a new piston and sleeve and I replaced the con rod two months ago. I am going to swap out the regular con rod with the speed con rod replace the piston and sleeve and then get it modded. It will still be cheaper than the speed version but I am hoping it will run better

I have the 28 in my truggy and when she first got her legs it was massive overkill for the kyosho, it spun the tires on the street, so you could only imagine what she did on the track.
after that being said, I had to immeadiately loosen the suspension more so in the rear as to get a better power to weight ratio and get some of that power to the wheels without breaking loose.
I'm pleased to announce that after doing so now with alittle finess on the throttle she's alot more managable on the track and rips.

I took 1st in yesterdays amain for the first time with her, my best friend with a mugen took second running a picco p3, he's the only one that could keep up with me.

well, i popped my first motor this weekend after 6+ gallons ,the conrod finally gave out! the track i raced at saturday had a god awfull long WIDE open straight that finally did her in! lucky there was no damage that i can see except the upper conrod bushing disyntigrated. i found another on line at amain so ill prolly pick one up rebuild the nova and put it away as my backup. it still has great pinch and gallon old ceramics in the motor.so i think it has a few gallons left in it. ive got a new aluminum head os speed on the way ! i cant wait to get that beast in my truck!

one more thing...if you are going to the yard, you better get that Speed on your rig asap!!! Your motor is gonna top out pretty quick on the back stretch (good reason for you get an Alum head Speed Motor! )

hkenvy - man, that post above was almost prophetic...sorry about the blown conrod man...that straight will do it though...too may RPM's for a lot of motors...you will really see what that Alum head speed can do at the Yard...you will love it!

ProRC - looking forward to seeing you there Sunday...hopefully it is a good turn out

Not sure if I posted this earlier (I apologize if I did), but I ran the xr8 all of last year (with the K Big Bores on it), and it was/is a great truck, but I have ran my STRR 2 times at the track (RC Pro and Awesome RC) and I am already faster (by quite a bit...over a second a lap) with the STRR. As luck would have it, my setup is dialed for RC Pro (needs tweaked for Awesome RC), and the truck is a rocket with the GRP 21 in it. Not sure if it is the geometry, or the extended chassis, or what, but the thing is fast...I am definately glad I made the switch!

Does anyone know if there is a split center diff mount available for the STRR? I find it hard to believe that it does not come with one, but I guess you have to compromise somewhere
