I had a ball at the track today. Had a couple issues with the clutch and engine tuning at first but after I got a better tune (still not in tune) from Pklot and the clutch issue sorted out, the truck was even more of a handful to control than last time. I cant even feather the throttle or anything and its spinning tires as if I had it full throttle or something. Was no way I could get over half throttle on the track, I did that 1 time and the truck nearly flew into the first turn on the big jump right in front of the drivers stand. Even with all the extra power I had with a better tune, I was still able to control it around the track for the most part. Did even better going around the track than last time. Run time is probably around 4 mins less than a .21, but I also dont run the restrictor atm. In the end the reciever battery went dead on me, and the whole truck is covered in RB orange dirt, but i didnt break a thing, still running with the wingmount thats broke on one side and it still sits nice and straight on the truck... top notch quality from Kyosho.

dude! no wonder you are all over the track tryin to control the truck , running no restricter insert gives the truck way to much power to handle!i was runnin a 7 in a novarossi p5x yesterday and i was hooked up ! took 4th in truggy

I put the carb restrictor in yesterday when I was trying to tune it and run in my yard. It was still spinning tires everywhere though. Im going to get someone whose a pro at tuning engines to put a near perfect tune on it, because one of the few things im not good at in this hobby is engine tuning.

Hey 88 I did good on the track this past week end but I don't think I'm ready for a race. hey gtsum did you go yo the money race this past wekend in glousterif so who did you do

yep, I was there...my first qualifier was very good...I ran 9 laps in 5:29 - I had 2 bobbles that cost me a 5:20 or so, but that was about as good as I could have done...as it was I was 7th qualifer (2nd-7th place was separated by 9 seconds over 5 minutes, so the racing was tight). I got a good start in the A main and was running 3rd when my GRP went lean (bad) and then cut off...got it back to the pits and noticed that the fuel line was cut, so got that fixed and back on the track...I was a couple laps down, but 9 minutes later when I pitted I was in 4th...things were going well, but then my brakes went out and it acted lean again (****???)...it cut off again and brought it back in to the pits and noticed that the fuel tank lid did not get closed all the way (the fuel line was caught under the cap)....at this point, the entire chassis was soaked with fuel, the air filter was soaked, etc, so I called it quits. If that pit mishap did not happen (it was my fault though for running the fuel line like I did), I likely would have gotten 2nd, but that is racing. I did manage a 34.3 second lap, which I think was the 3rd or 4th fastest truggy lap of everyone running, so the truck is definately fast (much faster then my last ride). Hkenvy91 put a new setup on his and it did not quite agree with him, but he tuned the truck in again and got a backup motor running pretty good and made some good laps and outlasted a lot of the field and took 4th I think...

anyone in the area (richmond, etc) should head out there on a sunday. There is a sportsman class that you can race in (until you get too fast!) that way there no pressure from the fast guys, etc. It is the only way to learn to run a track and race (if that is what you like)...cuz there is a big, big difference from standing on the track running by yourself compared to being on the stand with 9 other truggies on the track....plus, the only way to get better and faster is to race against faster people! Hope to see some of you out there!

well said in that last part gtsum!

we got one of the local richmond guys to finally race and he said it was the most fun he has ever had with rc's!
he promptly went in the store after the race day and bought a race roller losi eight-t and jp-3 pipe for his new rb motor he is pickin up next week! the boy is hooked now!, no turnin back for him. it was his first race and he did rather well for sportin a mutilator.
yeah, thank you shaun for helpin out with that motor issue sunday mornin!it was too hard for me to hear what the motor was doin while drivin it! i hope to finally be able to stay with you guys for more than 2 laps!lol i did manage som low 35's in the main after i made some brake adjustments, thickin up the front diff and some minor droop adjustments! man she would pull right through that banked 180 after the triple. i tap the brakes , slide the rear around and peg it and it would pull hard around the turn. the truck finally settled with me after i made the adjustments

Trust me we will be out there soon, just practicing on the track and trying different things. When I get my engine tuned, im good to go, I like how the truck gets around the track like it is so I would run the setup I have now when I go to a race and change it if theres room for improvement. If I can keep the truck on its wheels and on the track then I should do good even though i have a .28 onboard.

I Got the car battery charged up but they said the battery itself is bad and will go dead at anymoment and I will need to buy a new one. But its letting me charge my rx pack up so i might get a 45 minute run or somthing before it gets too dark or at least try it out with some 30%. Got the head shimmed so im going to attemp to put a better tune on it with the 30 since thats what I plan on sticking with. Probably overkill for the truck seeing how it performs detuned at no more than half throttle on 20%.

Im debating on weather I want to get a 1/8th buggy for the C6 or the 1/5th baja 5b ss, at least with the 1/5th its cheaper and much more hassel free to run through out the year, even though I probably will be by myself when running it and might not be able to run it in my neiborhood.

if i were you proracer88 i would take out the 28 you have and put that c6 in the truck. you will get alot more usable power out of that motor than spinning the tires constantly with the 28. one of our local guys was runnin that os 28 truggy motor they have out and it was way too much power, he actually ran slower lap times with it than he did with a 21.

you should check out rock crawling , me and this dude bj go crawl all the time locallyafter work and on some selected weekends

I want that C6 in whatever I get this year, just need one more top notch offroader and i will be satisfied. Most likly it will be a 1/8th buggy as far as 1/8th goes, and that C6 is going straight on it. If I get the 1/5th buggy then i probably will use the C6 as a race engine and the .28 for when im doing anything else. After that it wont be no more big-money purchases for a while. If I was going to put a 21 on i would be buying another high dollar high performance italian for it if i go with the 1/8th buggy. I will deal with the .28 and learn to drive with it, I can do pretty good with it when i actually try to but since im not racing atm I just like to pull down on the trigger weather i need to or not and watch those tidle waves of dirt shoot up from behind it.

Has anyone got some JC Rulux Half-Ups fitted? If so, just wondering what hubs you running, being that the wheels are a half offset, makes the truck too wide. I'm about to glue a set up that I died black with some Panther Gator's 38 series, look very impressive.

well, i cant run the half-up's even as much as i think they look good because they are only available in 1/2 inch offset.
my truck already has the extended hubs. i know if they start making them in standard offset thats the rim ill be sportin! they look HOTT!!!!

and they fit the lpr tire

Im running half off set rims with stock hubs. I tried the wider off set hubs with the half off set lrp rims and its very wide. It still comes in under 17 inches but its just way to wide and to set it up would wreck the set up Im running now.
Your best bet with half off set rims is stock hubs.

The Engine is doing exatly what I want it to do now for the most part, idles for me so i can fuel up or put the body on, temps stay under 210F (unless running low on fuel then it leans out and runs around 230F). That 30% and the OS P3 plug definatly did the trick . I just had to tune it for a couple minutes and after that I was able to 7 tanks in no problem. Had a vid I was going to post i did with my phone but on here the quality sucks, but cant expect crystol clear quality from a cell . Run times was very decent, got about 9 minutes and was I driving like I normally would on the track. No more than half throttle and not holdin it for too long, but again you would think I was full throttle all over the place the way it runs.

What do the H and L upper suspension blocks do to handeling? and the A and B lower suspension blocks? And I got 2, 2.5(installed), and 3 degree blocks for the rear, what exatly would it change? I have forgotten most this stuff

upper suspension blocks when used with the lower ones change the front roll center, which will effect your steering response (example...higher front roll center (lower mounting locations) will increase off power steering and decrease on power steering, while a lower front roll center (higher mounting locations) will increase on power steering and decrease off power steering). The STRR has a new front suspension holder, which increases the kickup by 2 degrees, so you can run the bushing up in the shock tower and down in the rear (on the bulkhead) to keep the upper and lower arms parallel and keep the roll center the same. If you have the STR front plate, then the geometry is different. 2 degree rear toe will be looser...if you like the back end to break away and hang out while going around a high speed sweeper, then that is for you...3 degree rear toe will lock the rear in some more, but if it slides, it will be harder to control

Do you guys know where I could source a 13t vented AND hardened clutch bell for the ST-RR? I can't find any for this application? Something from Amain would be great!

Thank
