Well, after qualifying 15th in the pro series and finishing 15th (got rained out) Ive made some big changes to the set up. Ive limited the rear droop so that the rear a arms are almost level, change from a 50 spur to a 48 spur and moved shocks up front to lay more inward. To bad I wont find out till friday what this will do. Also changed up diff oil set up, 7-10-2.
Going to run it friday and if it seems to be decent, I'll post the set up sheet. Im more interested in the spur change, I went from a 16.54:1 to 15.88:1 ratio.
Always looking for the perfect set up....

Got up early this morning driving the truck for about 6 tanks, then went to the BMX track in fulton in church hill. My truck didnt last 5 mins before I did some serious damage to it. What got me was going off the uneven part of the bowl on the outside. I lauched the truck in the air with good speed but hit the hump in the ground wrong and there was no way I could correct it the way the truck was positioned in the air, so I watched it all come down on the rear left suspension arm. Right then I noticed I broke the ball cup on the shock. Shut the truck off to further inspec and all in all I broke the gold suspension brace in half, tore one side of the bulkhead up, tore the insert on the shock cap, bent the shock tower in the direction going towards the front (that may have already been bent but just noticed it), and lost a screw that goes in the front cnc knuckle on the right side.(3rd time this has happened )

I been punishing the truck for 3 months so It definatly held up more than enough. Got down 3/4s a gallon since tuesday. Im going to order the kingheadz brace package since you get all 3 for $34, and get the one for the front too just in case it breaks. Does the rear shock tower need replacing or is it fine like it is? The replacement is expensive and if I do replace it I think im better off with the carbon fiber tower, can get front and rear for the price of 1 replacement tower.

Well I defiantly have had the time with owning that truck, cant wait to get Kyosho's buggy later... the MP9 of coarse.

Im running all stock outside of the cnc steering knuckles. But if your running more at a bmx track than a rc track, extra beefy parts never hurts. BMX jumps are just a bit more than those on a rc track. Fact is, parts break no matter what track it is. I broke a rear hub and rear a arm last saturday, was the first part I broke on the truck in almost a year.

Nascar, i run on rc tracks for the most part, this is only my 2-3rd time i been to the bmx track with the truck. But only reason i broke yesterday was that aucward landing i did, no one could had came out of that without breaking or bending a few parts.

Those are the ones. These are better but out of stock. They are 3.5mm shaft end, also have the 3mm shaft. I dont have my manual to check shaft size, but on my big bore with a caliper, I got 3.5mm shafts. Never break another plastic shock end, may bend a shaft though. Take the good with the bad...lol

better to break a shock end and be able to screw a new one on in 10 seconds then to bust or bend a shock shaft imo...on hard wrecks, something has to give somewhere....I would make the "weak" point somewhere that could be changed very quickly and easily...

Thank you both for the input.

Those gold shock ends been on back order since last summer from what i remember, so i doubt they will get any of those in anymore. I will go with the plastic.

What about the bent shock tower, should I buy another replacement or buy the carbon fiber tower instead... if i need to replace it?

ebay the tower,5 bucks plus s/h, about another 5 bucks. Ive never been a big fan of CF unless its on a paint job. Yeah, if the towers bent, need a new one, might be able to beat it back but it will never be perfect.
p.s. watch out for a klown on ebay, buddy420, think hes smoked his fair share.

Well.. thats a huge difference and for that price I will buy a couple towers as spares for the front and back. I heard about that buddy420 guy, i constantly see him on there selling this and that.

I sold him my mbx5t with a ninja and jp1 pipe, 300-350 somthing like that. It had 4 sets of tires, 2 bodies, 4 diffrent diffs and tons of parts. It was ready for any race track. Dude gets the truggy at his door and claims it didnt run, carb stuck open and he had to fix it. He wanted money back and keep the truggy.
Long story short, I dont sell junk, the mugen worked just fine. No money back, neg feed back for him yet he leaves me positive feed back. He then relist everything on ebay in smaller groups of sales to make a few bucks.
So I guess as a seller he might be alright, but as a buyer, he will try to scam anyone out of a buck or two. Make your own case on that fella.
