My truggy is now a strr. I got the big bore shocks and springs in and my lhs had a new long body for the strr in, just need to paint it. Ok, not a true strr, it has the bce extended chassis, seems like a plus. Will get track time this week and a money race this weekend.
I'll get pics posted in a few.

mtbkym01 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (10/8/2007 6:09:25 PM)

Awesome, post photo's when you can

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (10/8/2007 10:54:45 PM)

Heres some pics, the upgrades were pretty easy to do, I just ordered the big bore buggy springs for the front instead of the ones for the truggy. It seems the front and rear springs are the same for the truggy.

Man that looks good, especially for what it has cost to you up to this stage. Are they wide offset hubs on there? Once it has some track time in it's current form, let us know how it handles, especially the difference the shocks make to overall handling. (love the look of them)

ProRCRacer88 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (10/9/2007 6:13:18 PM)

Definatly like the looks of the BCE chassis Nascar, let us know how you do at the track with it.

El Esmeril207PR -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (10/19/2007 11:24:26 PM)

Hi sir!
where is your lhs? can I buy this strr new body tru the internet with them?
I have been disconect of the hobby for like two months because some rush on my job and lost track of couple of upgrades and where to look at it!
I even feel weird not looking to the mail expecting some package of A MAIN!

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (10/20/2007 3:17:43 AM)

It handles great, the blue springs were way to soft along with the 400 and 450 shock oils, so I went to 700 and 750 (front/rear) oils and green springs. Those are off set hubs, had to go back to the stock ones when running the losi 8ight T rims.
The new strr body is on a mains web page, strr body and this is the str body. Ive been watching ebay for the strr body but havent yet seen them and the str bodies are going for more than a main wants. I like the look of the older str body but I did buy the newer one just to have one.
The truck is great, and with the big bore shocks, the whop sections are like little ripples.
To bad the race season is almost over, I'll have to just upgrade more for next year, ceramic bearings are next.

El Esmeril207PR -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (10/21/2007 8:04:17 PM)

Well thanks for the info!
and I agree with you the older is more like aggressive! but the newer body it is more for racing,because of its easy acces to the engine . When I bought my first body I can't cut the hole for the glow igniter!
I'not into racing yet because of time and distance of my nearest track! but the good thing is that I contact the guys in charge of the track and they told me I can go any day I want for practice.But I'm still working six day a week for this month so let's see what happen and thanks for the info.I'm not always post but I check the forum alot so see ya!

I think I just got a smok'en deal off the net .... did some adding and it LOOKs like $2000.00+ plus for a cost of $500.00 [:D].... ST-R roller racer with TONNES of upgrades... How do you post the smaller pics that inlarge. I have a few big pics .... but I didint wanna to be PO'd at me for BIG pic's. If this big pics are all right with the gang on here I will post them. I am glad I found this post, I am sure that I will have a few questions come next race season. I am sure that my TKO bearinged RB928 w/ JP-3 will hall this around like nothing, I will have to weight it but it only feels ike 7 pounds with out any running gear in it ( motor, servo's Batt etc.)

JagManSS -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (10/23/2007 10:37:50 PM)

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (10/24/2007 12:39:30 AM)

Sweet, the BCE chassis looks like last years or the stock one, not the longer version. King head steering knuckles and rear brace. Just by the looks of the pics Id say you got a prtty good deal. The stock str kits are around 550 the the hop ups, 125 chassis 25 brace 45 knuckles, not to bad of a find.
Im guessing you run a Jammin' X1-CRT Pro , 2x HellFire SS , Savage SS, Thunder Tiger EB4 S3? Once you run the kyosho around, the rest will seem like tyko cars. I had a jammin crt then went to a mbx5t and now the kyosho strr, by far the best.
Run it like it is now, make sure all fluids are good (shocks/diffs) and then get a set of big bore shocks. Those are the best upgrade and well worth evey penny. Youll have to change the drive shafts front and rear to run them but its well worth it.
Nice find, ebay? Perfect size on the pics, post away.

mtbkym01 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (10/24/2007 1:17:44 AM)

Hey nascardad, what driveshafts did you change to when you got the big bore shocks? My next upgrade is the BB's, so just wondering what else I'll need. Thanks

1 x KYOIF346-04 Kyosho Big Bore Shock Steel Shock Bushing (4) $11.49
1 x KYOIS105 Kyosho Front Big Bore Shock Set (ST-R) $72.99
1 x KYOIF346 Kyosho Rear Big Bore Shock Set (MP777/ST-R) $74.99
1 x KYOIF348-1216 Kyosho Big Bore Rear Shock Set Springs (Purple - Soft) $14.49
Youll need 2 rear springs, the front springs are to short, even though they say they are for the str, they are front buggy springs. I got purple, way to soft, go with green or blue ones.
I got the shfts from my hobby shop so I dont have a part number but will be going there tomarrow, I'll get the number for the shafts then. Im hopen we get one more race night in, I just got the acer ceramic bearings in.

Hey Jag, great deal, all those extra parts and upgrades that one cant see from just the pics made your buy a great deal.

Good lookin rides there! I run an Xray xt8, but recently put the Kyosho Big Bores on. Wow, what a difference..those shocks are worth every penny...running xray 800 front and rear with the green springs, but I have the blue truggy springs on the way...just wondering what springs and oils you all are running?

On another note, I have been racing against a couple STRR's, and they are very nice and generally well hooked up on the tracks I run on

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (10/26/2007 11:11:30 AM)

Blue springs with 850 all around, with green springs, I have 750 front and 700. I have a few large spacers in both front/rear, a 10 and 5 all around. A buddy of mine runs for team kyosho and finished 10th in the truggy nats this year, pretty good for a 15 year old. I'll try and grab a few set ups from him shock wise.
The big bores are well worth the price.

thanks for the info...I will keep an eye out here for any shock setups, and I agree, the big bores are WELL worth the price..they make the trucks handle so, so much better.

JagManSS -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (10/26/2007 10:11:47 PM)

So do you think this motor pipe combo will work ... we have no real long tracks up here ( In Canada Eh !! )... I think the longest one is the one in Red Deer ( Alberta ) at the Winter Nationals http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=go-q_tOFwzMI have the Novarossi TOP BF21 with the Ofna 063 pipe, the motor has the Hot Mod done to it ?????

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (10/26/2007 11:47:51 PM)

This pipe is designed for bottom end performance and its a great pipe to bring the bottom end to life on Top 421B engines. Thats what a main says about the pipe, and with it being a hot mod you should have tons of take off/low end. I would think a simple bell change from a 13 to a 14 would be better if you feel your being out run. Make that change of bell on a practice run, if it kills the low end the back to a 13.
