Hey Pro, check the cam holders on the senter diff, they hold the brake shafts that apply force to the pads. There a plastic bushings that hold the cams into place, mine were so tight that it wasnt allowing the brakes to return so they were always so force being applied to the brakes. I bought shoulder bearing (2) and fixed that issue. You could also just reem them out just a bit so they have plenty of room to twist.
On the diffs, all shims to the gear side, 4 might be a bit much, Ive got 3. Headed to Indiana for the pro series event, hope to qualify better than 15th and no rain so we can run mains. Im running 7-10-1 in diffs, 700 front shocks and 800 rear. Pro-line hole shot tires, that is untill the AKA stuff come out in a few weeks.

Nascar i took the diff mount to peices, the cam holders move liek they should, im going to put tiny springs between the brake pads like the buggy has, so they wont be lose and free. Just need to find where i can get springs that small from. Theres a chance that some flanged bearings i had laying around somewhere would fit, hope i didnt throw them away. I put 2 shims on the gear side and its a nice snug fit. Going to order some bowties with half offset before I go down to the track this weekend, then i want to get some AKA tires soon after they come out. Any chance you can get a pic of the truggy or buggy aka's?

Ive got a 5 pack of dvds ready to record this weekends event. Right now the only AKA tire my buddy is testing is the I beam buggy tire, however there might be a chance on a set or two for the truggy. This time next week I should have footage posted.
For the diffs, I ran 10-20-2 and wasnt thrilled, went to 7-10-1 and like it alot better, just feels and reacts better for my driving style.

LOL..I am pretty sure I will be there Saturday...I am not confidant in my Nova making it at the Yard, so I am not going up there either this weekend (pretty sad seeing as how my 21-5KT has only 1 gallon on it...I just do not like this motor at all after running the GRP!). See ya Saturday!

Question: Do you guys use locktite on the screws that hold your head to your engine? They don't seem to have locktite from the factory but they always seem to find there way loose. Any opinions?

Thanks!

yes i use some locktite <blue> as we had a guy at our track with a 2 gallon old os 28 xz that the screws came a little loose, enough to cause an airleak and she shot up to about 350-400 degrees ! after that you could just about spin the flywheel with your finger.total loss

Like hkenvy said, blue if your going to use any. I myself dont use any on the engine screws/bolts. On the cooling head, If you take it off (sirio to change to the turbo head) then after you run the first tank, check them in a cross pattern. I always check mine from time to time as with all screws and bolts.
If your going to use blue, just a dap will do, dont coat the threads, bad things can happen.

You have about 2 more gallons to go before break in..really..I have about 3 gallons on my .21-7BT and it's just now starting to get fast..i have yet to see any motors "out motor" me on the straights..it's a beast..On the Diffs the Team guys are runnin 20K 20K 2K..sounds strange but it works..
