gtsum -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/20/2007 2:06:32 PM)

good stuff...so are you gonna head over saturday to practice, or just go Sunday?? Motorama should be good...we will have to get things set up to head up there. Also, if you are looking at the 9000T for steering like I have, they have a new one out now...9100...has even more torque...not sure if you can tell a difference, but if you are gonna get one, you just as well get the 9100!

hkenvy91 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/20/2007 6:09:45 PM)

true i was looking at those and they are only about 10 bucks more! im gonna try and get up there sat as well! what about you? also do you have a toe plate for a truggy for your team magic kit! if so can you bring it sat or sunday whichever day you show up!!:)
the whole set up kit with plate i mean

gtsum -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/20/2007 7:51:21 PM)

not sure if I can make it both days..I will know more later this weel and let ya know...I have a toe plate that I use, and yep, I will bring the setup station...

hkenvy91 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/20/2007 8:07:51 PM)

ProRCRacer88 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/22/2007 6:33:37 PM)

Sold my menace truck for some money and a near new reciever for my JR XS3 Pro to a friend yesterday. So i decided to put the servos i had for the truck in and the reciever. The steering servo is a airtronics 94358 which is 200 oz in @ 6volts and .10 secs transit time(no sticker on it because i had to buy a new servo case), and the throttle is a JR DZ8550, which is 188 oz in torque and .15 secs transit @ 6 volts. The steering servo is temporary until i get a JR 9000T. Here are a few pics.

Now i need engine/pipe, clutch/flywheel, front knuckle, and wing mount and im set. I already have the wheels and tires and the body on the first page of this thread.
I cant make up my mind on buying these items or the Playstation3, what i dont get now i will get later on buy new years. If i get the stuff for the truggy, i have in mind to get the RB928 w/ pipe combo kit, werks racing clutch w/ carbon shoes (any suggestions on a different clutch?).

mtbkym01 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/23/2007 5:31:57 AM)

anybody know if these fit the ST-R, and if so are they any good?
Threaded Hinge Pins

ProRCRacer88 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/23/2007 6:20:39 AM)

they should fit i seen them listed under st-r... very good upgrade, no more lost e clips that hold the pins in place.

hkenvy91 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/23/2007 7:50:25 AM)

yeah i kinda like those as im not crazy about those pesky e-clips

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/23/2007 8:18:15 AM)

Pro, move your gas/brake controls all the way out on the servo horn. Is this the ebay truggy?
Those K factor hing pins are my next upgrade. If you run those c clips still, shoe goo the clips, I didnt have any fall off.

ProRCRacer88 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/23/2007 9:31:12 AM)

hmm i didnt even notice that Nascar, ok will do. yes its the one off ebay.

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/23/2007 9:32:47 PM)

Latest body. Its the str body not the strr, I like this body better for some reason. Just dont know if I like it better with yellow rims or white rims. I should have switched to a yellow wing for the yellow pic. I should be able to see it at night time without any issues.[:D].

The Winner -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/23/2007 9:50:44 PM)

how you make so good flames?

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/23/2007 10:53:53 PM)

I used Parma pre cut flame mask that I picked up from A MAIN HOBBIES.
The first body I tried got messed up, I didnt back the green with white before I shot the red so the green is darker. It also has a few spots were the mask took of the paint so I think its going to the dumpster or just a local track beater.
Ive got others Im working on will post more when they are done.

Mines 16 inches hub tip to tip and 17.5 inches with the losi rims. Need to change back to the stock off sets when running losi rims.

Tweedybird -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/24/2007 1:10:54 AM)

I just thought I'd post the first of many pics of the begining of the build. :) I'm still waiting for alot of upgrades to arrive from amain, but we all have to start somewhere.

Quick question on the clutch. I was going to order the werks clutch, but my lhs says he has a team orion 6 shoe. Anyone know of this clutch and if its bettwer or worse than the werks 4 shoe?
Unfortunately I'm unfamiliar with both.

Tweedybird -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/24/2007 1:47:04 AM)

Whats the part number at Amain of the UV black shafts I need to replace the stocks for the big bore shocks?

mtbkym01 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/24/2007 6:08:10 AM)

Nascardad,

I think the white wheels look better, could be because of the white wing though as you said.

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/24/2007 3:59:07 PM)

1 x KYOSIL0400 Kyosho Silicone Shock Oil #400 (40cc) $8.49
1 x KYOSIL0450 Kyosho Silicone Shock Oil #450 (40cc) $8.49
1 x KYOIF346 Kyosho Rear Big Bore Shock Set (MP777/ST-R) $74.99
1 x KYOIF346-04 Kyosho Big Bore Shock Steel Shock Bushing (4) $11.49
1 x KYOIF348-1216 Kyosho Big Bore Rear Shock Set Springs (Purple - Soft) $14.49-- BUT ORDER 2 ONE FOR FRONT AND ONE FOR REAR.
1 x KYOIS105 Kyosho Front Big Bore Shock Set (ST-R) $72.99

I couldnt find the part # for those shaft. Any of you guys/gals have your manual for the strr please look up the front and rear drive shaft number and post them. They should be the chrome molly black shafts.
The green springs are way to soft, go with blue or green and thicker fluids, 700 to 800 if usen kyosho fluids. Thats what I ordered from a main. Hope someone comes through with part numbers on the shafts. LHS will be open later today, I'll give them a call and see what they can tell me, unless its already posted.
Good Luck.

Tweedybird -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/24/2007 4:07:51 PM)

heres the part number for the front KYOIS104
part number for outdrives is KYOIS103

But heres a good question. Since you need a longer uv shaft for the rear, is there an upgraded longer black uv shaft available for the rear?

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/24/2007 4:18:42 PM)

Yes there is. Mine came with the BCE long chassis kit. Never looked to see if kyosho made that in the cm black. Kyoshos rear shafts are chrome, front too. More digging to do. BCE has them in cm black (back ones anyway) might check them out.

Tweedybird -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/24/2007 4:30:16 PM)

I'm also hearing alot of negative opinions on the rb 928 that I bought for my st-r.. alot of people are saying its very finicky, hard to tune and has way to much bottom end power.
I always like a challenge, and I'm not bad at tuning, but the power may be an issue for clutches. V-spec may be an option, but thats a wasted 400 beans on the RB.
I'm thinking I may just up the teeth on the bell to compensate for the power, maybe that will work, my lhs said guys were putting in 16's and 17's and it still took of with that motor like a bat outta hell. :D

man im a little pissed that the price dropped on the st-rr soo fast!!, as i payed full darn price for mine

ProRCRacer88 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/28/2007 6:23:53 PM)

i learned a while ago on makers liek kyosho, mugen, etc. they come out with a car and it will be up to $760 and then a few months later the prices will start to drop.. or at least amainhobbies will start to drop prices. never apoint to buy a car the day it hits the shelves unles syou got extra money to spend on the high price they are asking for.
