very true, look at me, I almost went out and bought the st-rr chassis for 200.00 and found a better chassis the BCE KX7-R for 100.00 less, but I already had upgraded steering knuckles, so I guess it equaled out.

david8818 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/29/2007 2:37:15 AM)

Finally received my paypal invoice from Bill over at BCE now its all about the waiting game... [>:] starting to receive upgrades here an there ordered from amain as well. The build is getting closer and closer to reality.
I can taste it lol

I also replaced my 3pk for the 3pks with the Fass spectrum receiver for the kyosho, anyone know if its any good?

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/30/2007 3:01:12 AM)

Thats my next big choice, radio. I like my spektrum dx system but looking into the m11 or the 3pk system. The bce is cool and well worth the wait. Wish I could help out with the radio, but I have only heard good about both systems.

ProRCRacer88 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/30/2007 3:23:58 AM)

noooo get the fasst system made by futaba, its better than spectrum...

Thats what I got the 3PKS magnum with the fasst module and reciever 420.00 at Tower.
got that exclusively for the new st-rr build. *Drooling*

Foxy -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/30/2007 9:13:57 AM)

3PK of any flavour, be it S or not, with a 2.4Ghz module is still the untouchable radio in my opinion. I still use an original 3pk, it's been going for years and shows no signs of slowing down soon. I haven't even looked at the 4PK, as my 3 is already more than I need.

Tweedybird -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (11/30/2007 11:16:08 AM)

Wow that 4pk looks mean, someone might be returning the 3pks lol.. but 600 beans is alot of cash for a tx and rx.

Do any of you guys know what the kyosho shock oils are equivalent too? For example, the Kyosho #800 is the same as what is losi weight? I just put some Losi 35 weight allround in my ST-R (not big bore) shocks and it seems too light.

Kyoaho 800 ia about 52.5 Losi oil. Kyosho (and Mugen and Xray) go by the CPS method of measuring..it is linear and consistant, whereas the American "weight" system is not. Losi 35 wt is equal to about 450 CPS oil...

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/2/2007 3:10:23 AM)

800 weight all around works great. That should be around 70 in losi oil. Gtsum summed it up.

mtbkym01 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/2/2007 7:25:20 AM)

Thanks guys, so my 35 is far too light. I think i'll just order some Kyosho 800 from amain ($20.00 a bottle locally, whereas, losi was $8.00)

800 kyosho oil all around, with Big Bores, and blue springs?

hkenvy91 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/2/2007 12:36:39 PM)

im gonna try 70 in front /60 in rear with the blue springs! i like my rear to be a little softer damping wise

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/2/2007 1:31:34 PM)

I have green springs (hard) with 700 oil all around. I thought it was 8 but I only have 450 and 700. 700 all around with 10 & 4 (14 total) spacer up front and a 10 spacer in back. Stock piston in the shock, hasnt been drilled or larger/smaller piston added.
The track I race at has about a 10 foot whoop section, just hammer it and it glides right over them. A set of blue springs would work to, not the purple ones. Im not even sure why they made those purple ones, way to soft for springs.

metroman -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/4/2007 10:55:37 PM)

I have the new St-RR with the os 28 zx, and probably will go to the track once in a while (maybe once a month) which is not to big, the longest strait is probably 35-45 ft. with a couple jumps and turns. But most of all I will be bashing with my friends @ dirt lots, construction sites, etc.. I wanted to know what your suggestions might be for the diff fluid set ups that might be good for the conditions described above. Any help would be good and Thank You in advance.

mtbkym01 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/4/2007 11:07:08 PM)

Man that is one mighty set up for bashing!!!!!ST-RR and 28XZ, just dont tell me you've got JR9100 servos and Futaba 3pks FAAST LOL. I'd probably go with 7,10,3 in the diffs. It's hard to tell exactly how it will handle without actually trying it in the conditions you describe. Good Luck with that awesome truck

metroman -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/4/2007 11:30:15 PM)

No, I don't have the JR servos I got the Hitec 5955 tg servos for both my steering and throttle. Thank You, that sounds like a good starting point. The other question I have are about the Diff oils that are like 20,000, 15,000, etc.. When would you use fluids like that, haven't seen those types until just recently.

mtbkym01 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/5/2007 12:54:32 AM)

personally, i'm not sure when you would use fluids that heavy, and probably would never encount a track situation where i would want to change from my current set up (4, 7, 3) or the 7, 10, 3, that i posted above. these two settings work pretty well for me and my driving style, so sorry i cant help more.

BTW, post some photos of your truggy, would love to see it

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/5/2007 1:17:37 AM)

30000-50000-10000 in kyosho fluids. The top level guys mix there fluids and run 28000-45000-12000. Thats just to much work to mix the fluids lol. Im not to sure what 30000 kyosho fluid would equal in mugen ae or other makes.

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/9/2007 3:42:34 AM)

Another body finished. Its hard to see in the pic but the front is a color change paint, (faschange purple) and the blck up front and the roof is the carbon fiber look. I'll snap more pic tomarrow and see if they wont turn out a bit better.
Before long I hope to get good enough at painting I can sell them instead of just tossing them into a corner. I though about ebaying them off, I suppose thats still an option. There not show quality but youll never get better at anything if you just give up.

Looks great Nascar,
I'm the same way with my bodies, I just started airbrushing bodies like 3 years ago. And I'm just now starting to get the hang of it, but at 22 to 30.00 a body, practice is slow lol..

That's awfully heavy diff fluids. Not sure about your local guys, but most of the factory team drivers run much lighter fluids. Cody King generally runs 10k/18k/2k and Tyler Vick runs 7k/10k/1800.

Kyosho and Mugen fluids are both rated in cps, so the ratings are pretty much the same as each other.
