7k 10k and 1800 sounds pretty close to alot of the setups I'm reading about.

Mostly I see people running 7/10/3 would that be a good place to start? being that I'm just about to beging my build?

I listed the body on ebay, starting out at 10 bucks. Im working on more and will be selling them on ebay too. Santa is suppose to be bringing me a new paint gun so they should start to look better the more I paint. It kills time during the winter season too.

MonkeyRC -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/12/2007 6:51:07 PM)

I built mine 100% to Cody's setup sheet (diffs 10/18/2) and wouldn't change a thing. The slightly higher front & center allow the truck to pull extremely hard out of corners while still being able to turn sharp.

Tweedybird -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/13/2007 12:44:31 AM)

and these are kyosho diff oil weights correct?

MonkeyRC -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/13/2007 5:59:13 AM)

10k/18k/2k. Manufacturer of silicone diff fluid isn't too terribly important. I use both Mugen and Kyosho diff fluids and they're pretty much identical in weight.

Keep in mind that you have to mix 20k and 10k in order to get +/- 18k.

actually, there is quite a bit of difference from some brands...i.e. losi and associated diff oils are quite a bit different then mugen, xray, and kyosho oils (the latter 3 go by the CPS scale instead of the WT system)

Another str body done. This one turned out pretty good, not perfect but its my best so far I think. I got the desige from the str manual.

Sold my menace truck for some money and a near new reciever for my JR XS3 Pro to a friend yesterday. So i decided to put the servos i had for the truck in and the reciever. The steering servo is a airtronics 94358 which is 200 oz in @ 6volts and .10 secs transit time(no sticker on it because i had to buy a new servo case), and the throttle is a JR DZ8550, which is 188 oz in torque and .15 secs transit @ 6 volts. The steering servo is temporary until i get a JR 9000T. Here are a few pics.

Now i need engine/pipe, clutch/flywheel, front knuckle, and wing mount and im set. I already have the wheels and tires and the body on the first page of this thread.
I cant make up my mind on buying these items or the Playstation3, what i dont get now i will get later on buy new years. If i get the stuff for the truggy, i have in mind to get the RB928 w/ pipe combo kit, werks racing clutch w/ carbon shoes (any suggestions on a different clutch?).

well guys, had in mind to order the RB928 w/ pipe combo the day after xmas which is $400 at amainhobbies. so earlier i decided to look on ebay and saw a rb928 new in box w/o the pipe, decided to bid on it and won it for $235 shipped.[:D][:D]
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEBTOX:IT&item=200183566826&_trksid=p3984.cTODAY.m238.lVI

after i buy a matching pipe which is about another $100, in the end i save around $70. so after xmas i will need to order the pipe, werks racing clutch, 15t clutch bell, front knuckles, wing mount, and reciever pack.

ProRCRacer88 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/17/2007 6:17:21 AM)

I always try to ream the body post holes, cut the breather holes, wheel wells, and wing lines out before painting due to mounting issues later on. Do you have a trick to lining up the body post holes once you paint the body?

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/17/2007 11:55:15 PM)

ProRCRacer88, go with a 14 bell, 15 is a bit much unless your going to drag race it.
The body is gong on ebay after christmas when usps isnt so busy.
Tweedy, I put black paint on the body post (front first), center the body and place it down. Reem it abit from the bottom and finish it from the top side. Then just repeat for the back side. The str body has pre made dimples for the body post, this wont work on the longer chassis though.
On bodies I keep, I mark the protective film before I paint it that way I know were to reem the body post. Selling this one so its someone eles bother, unless I keep it, Im liken it the more I see it, may need to do another.

ProRCRacer88 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/18/2007 4:34:13 AM)

didnt realize 1 tooth could mean that much of a difference. ok will get the 14t. thought that with all the stories i heard about the 928 having so much torgue, a 15t would be perfect. j

ust goin to run around the yard when i have time, wont have time to race even on the weekends unless im lucky. pretty good setup i will have even tho its jus for playin around... i would say..

will definatly have to check that track out you was telling me about HKenvy

vnmsgt -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/19/2007 1:19:09 AM)

vnmsgt -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/19/2007 1:41:41 AM)

forgive me for asking but what is the difference between both chassis. Does one have better aluminum?

Also what do you guys run for diff fluids and shock fluids on your infernos. I do not bash and only run on the track. I will be building mine shortly and it would help. Should I go buy what the factory drivers have on the kyosho website?

Driver & Setup is all I'm gonna say.

The rest is preference ;)

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/19/2007 2:13:34 AM)

The BCE chassis is lighter and stronger with a few diffrent features than the kyosho chassis. 660 for the strr not bad, thats about 100 cheaper than when they first listed them.
Check back a page or two, all diffrent set ups, most are running 10/18/2 in the diffs and shock fluids just depends on the track. 700 all around is a good starting point. Grab some lrp proline rims and tires for a great set of race tire combo.
On the 18 for center diff, its mixed, I didnt bother and just went with 20. Grab a set of green or blue springs, not sure how the strr kit comes, but if you get the blue ones then your set, green are harder than blue, but watch out on the purple ones, way to soft.

Lookn good tweedy, just about build time.

Hey Ben, run a kyosho once and youll understand. It will make you wonder why you wasted money on a redcat.

Tweedybird -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/19/2007 2:34:48 AM)

My buddy down the street runs with me and also sold his last 2 truggies to buy an st-rr after driving one, he said it was like driving a serpent that was made for the dirt lol.

He was going to go with the standard ST but decided that the full blown would be the way to go.

Another one joins the ranks.

Yeah Nas, your right almost build time. I'm start to drool everytime I walk into my hobby den.

thanks for the info. As far as the redcat goes he and alot of us around here have them and are great. I have a monsoon and it is just like a ST-R. The way I have it set up it runs awesome. Check out this pic, you would be suprised how it looks like a st-r, took some tuning and mods but it handles and turns great. it is actually my favorite truck to drive right now. My hyper st pro is a close second but have not driven it much yet. I think the st-rr will take them both as my favorite very soon though.

I already bought a new set of st-r rims on ebay for 16.00 and bought a set of proline holeshots for them. Just waiting for the truck!

Tweedybird -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/19/2007 3:54:54 AM)

Hey Nas, Can I use the stock spoked St-R wheels with the new lpr proline crime fighters? or should I get the lpr dish wheels?

Tweedy

nascardad24 -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/19/2007 10:47:18 AM)

Youll need lrp rims or losi 8ight rims. The lrps are like 3.7 and the mt or mtr are 2.2, somthing like that.

gtsum -> RE: - Official Kyosho MP777 ST-R Thread - (12/20/2007 2:36:11 AM)

blue springs are stiffer then the green ones...red are the stiffest and purple are the softest
