I recently recieved the Axe about 2 days ago and have been hovering (mostly charging) the best i could and finally got it to where it only drifts slowly to one side (how do you straighten that issue out) ,but the reason i'm posting this is yesterday my tail rotor started this thing where it surges instead of giving me steady power!? What is the cause of this and how much will it cost me to fix this?!

Thanks in advance

I know my tail motor was doing this when I was messing with the adjustment screws on the 3-in-1. You may want to adjust these back to normal (the best you can) if you've changed these. While it's surging, is it causing your tail to wag back and forth?

As for the drifting in hover, you may want to check that your swashplate is level before take off.

i messed with my 3n1 adjustments attempting to put an eflite gyro on my Axe... another post in itself... and the tail is surging bad now, can anyone give me a starting point for reseting the 3n1 pot as near as possible to stock?

I don't remember my factory positions, but my middle and bottom POTs are at 11 o'clock and a little passed 12 o'clock (towards 1 o'clock) positions, respectively, and it's working well for me.

i set it like you suggested... worked like a champ! some small teaks and its holding the tail pretty good!
i do have to give it full right trim to hold it straight though. which direction do i turn the pot that controls tail drift to move it to the right so i can get my trim closer to center?

thanks for the tip!

For that one, I adjusted the very top POT. I think (key phrase: "I think"...it's been a while since I messed with it ) if you look at it as if you're looking at your helicopter top down that should get you oriented (in your instance, turn the POT clockwise). Set your yaw trim to center and make really small changes to that top adjustment. Since the plastic screw driver isn't small enough for this, you'll need one of your own that'll fit (if it's metal, remember to unplug the battery, adjust, plug the battery back in, then check). Also, the adjustments will be really small, so it may help to first mark the current spot with, say, at fine Sharpie, to allow you to gauge your progress.

This one is guess and check really. Have fun! Let me know how it turns out.

thanks for the info... before i start messing with anything, i want to be sure you mean the 'phillip-head' pot as opposed to the two flat screw pots... i dont want to mess with the wrong one and end up where i started... thanks again for the tips!

No problem. Yes, the one with the Phillips head, labeled "Left/Right Bias" in the manual. I find that even small adjustments make a big difference so adjust and check often.
