I'm new to the RC world and I bought the 1/8 Razor from what I understood is that the car was a good buy for the money. Is this car reliable? What can I expect for a top end speed? What race catagory would this be competative in? Do the parts break easily? Where do I get replacement parts for it? How long will a gallon of 20% nitro last?

Basically I need some reasurance right now because I'm in Canada and the shops here haven't even heard of Ex-ceed Rc. They keep telling me that it's probably a small shop who might not build a good car...

On the description it says "The unique Exceed-RC Razor buggy stand out at the track or bash session!" is this true? What sort of bashing can i do before i start destroying the car?

thanx digitaldaze

It is a good car, you will love it. Reliabliy will be determined by how hard you drive it. If you are bouncing it of curbs it will break, but if you plan to be on the track it will last, but again crashes do shorten the life of parts. Replacement part can be gotten at www.allaboutfunhobbies.com look under the hurriacane section. A gallon of gas will last one tank at a time If you bash parts will break, concrete and trees are not your friend. Dont worry, we are here to help just ask.

Thank you for your quick reply I'll definatly be ording my parts from you! Which parts should I stock up on? Is shipping expensive to Canada? How quick can I get parts to Windsor Ontario? Under the Hurricane series there's noe engines posted... what engines will fit this model or will any engine fit if i wish to upgrade?

Do you know what kind of speeds I can expect from this car? Is there a video of this car I can watch or something comparible so I can measure the speeds?

Best In Life, Bill

Go to the Engines Page or look on the main store front page. Your car runs on what is commonlly known as a big block engine. Big Block engines range from .21 to .30 typically, .30 being the largest. Redcat uses the SH.28 engine in there cars for some extreme butt kicking dirt flinging power. I personally have an STS modified .30 in my Buggy.

CHeck it out a video of my buggy(like your buggy different name):

Your goign to like that buggy, they are super hyper fast.

Thank you very much I was concerned because i didn't know what to expect? I want to buy some spare parts so I don't have to worry about down time what parts do you find are ordered most often or parts that are most likely to break? Do you ship to Canada?

I started the car and there's smoke and fuel coming from between the engine and the cooling fins right where they meet any suggestions? it stays running for about 30secs. This is also my first time starting it. I also made sure all the screws where tight...

Right now i'm a little questionable...

Check your glow plug is tight. Make sure the head gaskets are there, if they are there and everything is tight I would call Exceed or who evers name is on it and get them to warrenty the engine. I'm not sure what to tell you, I've never had a redcat SH engine do that or any engine for that matter. Could be a bad head gasket or something wrong with the engine.

I know this post is old, but I was just wondering if anyone knows, I recently bought one of these exceed razor 1/8 nitros and the manual that came with it sucks. It has a .21 engine (21cxp) and the manual doesnt say anything about a reccomended nitro fuel. anyone know what would be best for this engine? (percentage wise) It doesnt say waht factory settings are for needles either so I hope they are there if not I suppose I will manage. It doesnt have a reccomended break in either so I will likely heat-cycle.
