After shedding a spinner during the first runup (breaking the engine mount and wiping out 3 servos), then having the needle vibrate out on the first flight (ripping the gear out on landing and breaking the mount again), the 'Bear finally has two flights under her belt without shedding any parts. She is showing potential even on the base engine. It flies much like a supersonic oil drum. It's time to swap the ferry engine for something that can swing another 2 inches of diameter at another 1,000 rpm. The mad scientist has flight-tested the new engine but says it isn't yet ready for the XXX potion. He said something about the ring having to seat before trying to melt it out of the engine. Flight testing of the new engine in the 'Bear is scheduled for the weekend before the race. Test results will be kept classified until race day.
