Status: offline 		I think it depends on the plane & setups. If you have any sensitive surfaces, then expo can help. I use tripple rates on most of my planes, fly on mid rates most of the time. I also generally use expo too, lower numbers on low rate, mid range on mid rate & up to 100% expo on the full travels.

Status: offline 		Its close to a 5955 torque wise, maybe thats why you are satisfied with the speed, I'm noticing that with higher torque ratings, the speed seems to get faster, even if the time/sec rating says otherwise. My 5955's on a 30% move much faster than 5625 or 5645on smaller planes, both of which have roughly the same time/sec rating.

Status: offline 		I've also seen that on a few occasions. And really sometimes the manufacturers promises this and thas spec on servos when in real life it's far from. Why I try to stick with my JR servos as much as possible as they have treated me very well in the past. You will definitely also see an increase in response with a higher torque rating on a servo as the servo has the grunt to actually move the surface the speed it's rated to. Alot of speed but no torque will never get you anywhere except on a tail rotor/gyro servo.

Status: offline 		I think the stronger servos appear to act faster simply because they can overcome the aero-resistance of the control surface in the airstream better than a weaker servo. If you tested the servos with no resistance you would see the manufacturer's specs more accurately.

Status: offline 		I notice it on the bench and flying, those 5955 just slam the surfaces as fast as I can hit the sticks. The 5645s are way slower on the bench and in the air, same thing but to a lesser degree with the 5625. They all have a similiar time sweep rating. I think Spacey is on to it, he's spending around $100 a servo for the Fusion ailerons but he's getting the "bang" for the buck.

Status: offline 		I got the rolling harriers going , all I needed was more ail on my mid-rate, it also requires tight timing on the elevator, hold it too long & it noses up too much. I dialed in 120% spoileron mix for harriers/elevators on windy days, it will harrier w/o spoilerons if light winds.

The use of spoilerons will allow you to carry more forward speed in your harriers so the plane wont be as floaty.......more like a giant scale rather than the super light wing loaded profiles we are all used to. You should not need spoilerons once you get better with your timing and "vector control" skills!

Status: offline 		Had to find a home for a Saito 125. Yuz guys made it easy. Hired a builder to put it together for me and told him I'd give him an extra $50 if he would fill the nose with guirila glue and paint the stripes with fingernail polish. He took the $50 and said it don't look like the nose needs beefing up and the stripes look ironed well.

Last night, I filled the nose with the fast curing "white" gurilla glue from the existing fuse opening (without drilling). Then painted fingernail polish for an hour.

The static run-up had sooo much vibration that I brought the plane to my lhs for ideas. Seems the builder used a drill to bore out the 14X8 prop and it wasn't balanced. LHS recomended a 15X4 and it still vibrates so much that I get bubbles going to the carb. LHS guy said it won't vibrate so much after liftoff but I hate to take a chance of engine failure at low alt.

I noticed the fuel tank has 1/16 thick yellow foam between it and the fuse and is tied with nylon zip ties. A little of the gurilla glue leaked out of the zip tie holes indicating that the throtle servo and fuel plumbing must have glue issues.

Are fuel bubbles something to worry about or should I just go ahead and maiden her ?

Status: offline 		I had fuel foaming issues with mine also. I doubled up on the foam between the tank and the fuse, added foam between the zip ties and the tank, and even added a 2 oz. header tank on top of the main tank. I was still getting small bubbles! I flew it a couple of times, but seemed to be having radio issues before the engine was completely broke in. I haven't tried to fly it since. I'm not sure my receiver (FP-R148DF) is protected enough. It just barely fits in the second bay, and doesn't have any foam to protect it from vibes. I'm not sure what to do about it.

Status: offline 		Hey guys just a few thoughts.

1) Stiffening up the nose will be a good thing especially on the ARF's.

2) Using a good quality low weight wooden prop on the four-strokes like a JXF really helps with vibration. Regardless of prop though getting it perfectly balanced is VITAL.

3) Be carefull of spinners on these things that are unbalanced. A good aluminium balanced spinner is a good idea, with most aluminium spinners you can stick a centering rod through the spinner to use it on mose common balancers. Beware of anything but aluminium on these spinners when doing this with magnetic balancers.

4) The Saito's vibrate less when they are run in, the needles both top and bottom are properly set up and the valves are properly tuned as per the manual after that 10 tanks or so.

5) The method of using cable ties to mount the tanks we have found to not be all that great when you are struggeling with vibration. It's a really hard mount. Bend up a couple of U shaped piano wires, route it through the holes from the motor side and bend a couple of hooks into them so you can mount the tank with normal rubber bands. Get a proper piece of foam between the tank and the fuselage and don't use too many rubber bands either. Don't let the tank touch anything that's hard other than the foam and the rubber bands ever!

6) Using a foam reducing clunk will also help in high vibration applications. Something like a cintered bronze clunk from Du-bro or even better if you can afford it a proper fuel sponge from OMI. You can get these at most rigged out heli stores.

Status: offline 		Great tips Spacey! I even noticed some of the new YS engines are now coming with foam type fuel pickups for the tank. I think it is very important to find and fix your vibration issues with the engine before going forward. Make sure prop and spinner are balanced and use the right prop for that engine. Tune the engine properly. You might want to just put the engine on a test stand and get it broke in and tuned properly before taking a chance in the air.
