On mine I glued a thin piece of ply in the second fuse opening.(to the rear) I hade to open up the opening as well as the opening the root rib of both wings. Then I used velcro to attach the RX to the ply. When the wings are off the RX sticks out about 3/4" on each side of the fuse.

That is exactly where I put mine. I put the battery in the front one the same way and it seems to balance at about 5 1/2 inches. I am thinking that woudl be alright for a starting point for now.. As my thumbs are pretty rusty ,and I don't have the experince or confidence in the ys yet.

Third day in a row of fantastic weather, and I still haven't got a full flight on mine yet. Friday I had an issue with the rudder servo and barely got one full circuit in the pattern before landing. Saturday it was suggested that I put higher torque servos in, so I didn't fly it Saturday. Today, after finally getting the engine tuned and running well, I let a highly skilled buddy take it up to trim it out. After a couple circuits, he rolled inverted to check the balance and the engine quit. He rolled back to inverted and made a perfect deadstick landing and the tailwheel mount broke ! I feel like I'm spending too much money and time on this thing. But I like it, and several club members are interested in it, and we all want to see it fly. I'm just not having much luck lately.

MRK353, don't be afraid to ease the CG back as you get comfortable with it. I have my battery in the wing trailing edge behind the hatch. I run a prop nut instead of a spinner.I also have the engine slid back on the mount as far as it will go. It still flys better at 1/2 tank or less. I can stick it on the CG machine Monday if you want a reading.

I have such a love hate relationship with this plane right now!!!But i figured i would drop in since i have owned many and flown every power and prop setup that there is for this plane so if anybody has any power questions Fire Away-I have had a OS91 4s-OS91fx-OS120ax-Ys110-saito100 and125.That QQ scheme is a work of art,the time money and install frastration must have been insane but well worth it in the end ha.

So what power combo is the best? I have a 1.25 for mine. I am afraid the power to weight ratio will not be as good as the 52" Fusion/72 Saito combo I fly now. On the 52" I grab the canopy area old the nose up,give it power and let go. I want the 67" to have this kind of thrust.

The Ys110 is by far the sickest,i did not like that ballistic power and the ballistic fuel consumption,i was lucky to get a 7 min flight.Out of all the setups i flew i like the saito 125 on 20/20 w/16x4 APC,It was the best usable power to weight ratio and the throttle responce is off the hook. The OS 120 is ok,it also has way to much top end power and the throttle responce is week but like i said lots of power on 10% and a Vess 16x7 and no vibrations at all.The 120 is motor mount and fuse friendly due to the lack of vibs.I used the saito mounted plane for Freestyle practice and the OS mounted plane for IMAC practice.

Hahaha, thanks a bunch. Oh it was worth it indeed, would be even better if I could just get the plane finished now. Next week will be the big week I reckon though. Now if you ask me if I would do it all again.....err uhmmm err. Next time I'll be sensible and fire up the airbrush!

Thanks krillbill, I was planing on a 16x4W for the 1.25. I am glad to hear I am going the right direction. I run 15% Powermaster but have 30% if need be. I just don't want to run 30% all the time. I would have the thing in the air by now if not for the recover job. I will post a pic or two when done.

Got out over the weekend for the MAIDEN, OS 1.20 AX/Zinger 17X5, the rich factory setting was 4 stroking, the plane vibrated so much it was moving on the ground like those old football games that had little men vibrating all over the board!! Leaning it out helped stop that and the maiden flight went good even though it was windy, I leaned it some more after a couple short flights, the engine didnt quit while I put it through some moves so I ended up coming down lower, something I dont usually do on a maiden. I didnt go for a tail touch, but I think its going to replace my old worn out Do. This "plank" really flys nice, hovers didnt require a whole lot stick action, should be DOD next time out. KE is great, it was windy but coupling seemed low, the vertical up lines were pretty straight. Harriers were a bit of a problem, rocking in the wind, so I tried a little spoileron mix which helped. It would elevator right down to the ground, but I didnt want to risk it on a day like today. If I would have known it would be only 7.5 lbs, I would have gone with the .90, it hovers at 1/4 !! But nothing came loose & I'll trim the prop tips like an APC to "un-load" some. I'm going to mostly gassers, have Hyde Double Vision & working on TOC Yak 50cc, the Fusion will most likely be the only glow plane I keep, its size has good "presentation", it has super wing loading, floats nice & slow, a great plane to have 3-D fun without much worry. I put clear tape over every leading edge of trim covering, you cant even see it unless you get real close to it. Had a great maiden, looking forward to a calm day to do some "Huck'in". Rolling harriers were not what I expected, they were slow & hard to keep axial, I'll have to try different rates & wait for a calmer day to try more.

No need for the 30%,powermaster 20/20 was more then enough to spin that 16x4 threw the roof. The nicest thing about the saito 125 on the 16x4 and a 7.25 pound fusion is that i can put it up tuned perfect or way rich and it really didnt matter(i have had quit a few planes were the tune up had to be spot on or i could get in trouble),your going to love that setup. On my 4stroke fusions i use a Du-Bro 16oz tank to get a few extra minutes.

MixMaster where do you have your CG?For some reason my OS120 w/ Vess 17x6 was harder to find the sweet spot, not sure if its the whopping prop w/ 3hp behind it but on its last flight i had a 16x6 Master Airscrew and i moved the CG to 8 3/4 and it was rock solid in harrier manuvers and it was rolling like a mutha inces above the deck, unfortionatly i lost the plane halfway through that flight just a couple days ago so i only had 12+ flights w/ OS120 and was still trying a few setups but i know it liked the CG farther back then the slightly lighter 4 strokes with lesser props.

Its about 8 3/4, maybe a little less, AUW is 7.5lbs. It was too windy to try everything, the first calm day I'll really wring it out to see what it can do. My first impression is very good though, I wouldnt hesitate to fly it in 10-20, I'll just have to point it into the wind, when it 4 strokes it moves around on the ground!

Oi oi if that Sebart scheme you're talking about is the same one like I've got on my Sebart Katana S30 I have to agree it's it is a stunning colour scheme though? And also one I considered for the Fusion.
