Alright I charged up my lipo batteries earlier today. How long can I leave them sitting around with a charge??

yeah, something like a couple of weeks to a month or so

make sure when you bring them out that you balance them well and then cycle them about 1/2C or something if you have any doubts. A guy recently ruined like 4 2200mAh packs or so by leaving them charged for 6 weeks without using them

I don't plan on leaving these batteries setting around for more than a couple of days. I had a crash last night so I'm waiting on parts. I'm also installing the gyro when it arrives. So I hope to be up and flying by Saturday afternoon.

you'll be fine then... no need to recharge, they'll hold until then.

good luck with your gyro mod!

According to the instructions you can run a 3s lipo so if that battery isnt too big to haul around it should work.

I know the dang stock battery only lasts a few minutes.

Heli pals,

After much deliberation and bewilderment over all of the various options and differing connectors, I've narrowed down what I want to get for a LiPo setup, but I need to pick some brains here about connectors that I'll need, as I'm new to the LiPo (and general recharging) technology. My plan is to go with the TP1320 battery, GP Triton2 charger and GP Equinox balancer. I'm going to convert the Axe's power connector to ultra deans male and the stock battery and LiPo to ultra deans female (or maybe for the stock battery I'll just get a micro to ultra adapter), so I know I need to pick up some of those connectors.

That said, for those of you using the GP Equinox balancer, is it my understanding that the LiPo will plug into the Equinox and the Equinox will plug into the charger? If so, looking at the pictures, it looks like the Equinox has banana plugs that I assume plug into the charger. What type of input 'jack' or connector do I need to go from the TP1320 to the balancer, or will that plug in with its stock balancing connector? But then how does the battery cionnect to the...and will I have any need for a banana to ultra deans adapter? What? How? No hair left...going to burn down my house...help!

Sorry, could you please advise as to how all these things are going to connect?

Thanks.

the way it was explained to me, and I believe it says on the website also.. they equinox can be use with or without a charger, the way it was explained to me, you can plug the balancer into your pack as a stand alone, it'll balance the cells out and then you charge via the deans connection. Or, if you want, you can use it inline with the charger.

HelisRule you need an adapter to use the Equinox with a TP battery. I believe CommonSense RC has them.

Not to add to the confusion, but these batteries work great in the Axe and plug right into the Equinox.

Not all that confusing, just the mfrs haven't done us the favor of standardizing connectors.

HelisRule, the adapters to hook the TP batts to the Equinox are also available at http://www.techmodelproducts.com/bat_charge.php near the bottom-- the TP to JST adapter. I use these with the Equinox to charge my ProLites.
