Ok, Ok! I know these two can't be compared. I have been into rc for years and have many cars, planes, and heli's. I am trying to decide on my first monster truck. I was going to get the EMaxx, but then spoke to someone at the lhs that thought the Stampede would be better. I don't plan on racing, it's just for goofing off and backyard bashing. He brought up the cost of replacing 4wd parts that one wouldn't have with the stampede. How durable is the EMaxx? Of course the stampede is half the price and probably half the truck. Has or does anyone have both? If I get the Stampede, would I just "lust" for the EMaxx. I know the Emaxx has 2 motors and requires 2 packs. I have a ton of 6 cell 1700 packs. For just bashing, they would be ok. Right? Lastly, the suggested retail price to replace the esc is $180. Is it durable? Any advice is appreciated

THe speed control is not very surable but you get a lifetime replacement warranty from Traxxas. I have burnt up 3 of them already (mostly my own fault, snow, etc...) but you can have them replaced by sending them to Traxxas for 40.00. Not a bad deal.

IMO you would definately be "lusting" for an Emaxx if you buy the stampede.

Goog Luck

ok i have the stampede and it is not a bad truck, of course an emaxx would be better but because i only had $300 the emaxx was out of the option, cuz with the battery and charger i got plus the 180 for the stampede wit xl-1 speed control, it was 300, but i havent had any problems yet wit mine except i hate the paint job that came wit the body so im gonna get it replaced soon

I got the PEDE its an Okay truck but with the MONEY u save you could replace the stinger motor and definitly get a HD servo cux the stock servo can't take a beating... As far as level of fun the Stampede is 8 out of 10....

I got the E pede for my 6yr old son he/we raced it for 1 season and not he is 7 and has an Emaxx. The E pede is an awesome jumper, but the Emaxx is faster and will jump farther. The 4 wheel drive helps traction, so if you buy the E pede (it is a good truck) you will wish sooner than later that you had gotten the Emaxx. Good luck!

The stampede is a great truck. For the money,it is the best truck you can get.The e-maxx is probably faster, but my stampede is plenty fast, and it goes great too.I would like to have an e-maxx,but i didnt want to spend that much, and ive heard the stampede is more reliable, and the parts are probably cheaper. Also, you dont have to wait for 2 batteries to charge.I am definatley not trying to put down the e-maxx cause its a great truck, but the pede will probably be cheaper to run,and if nothing else, put in a brushless with the money u saved, upgrade the tranny some, and blow off the e-maxxs doors.

i have an epede and a friend of mine has the emaxx the emaxx is faster from the factory but with a good esc and 17*2 motor i can hang with him of course he wins but i am now right behind him my pede takes a very good beating(i love to jump high and far) i have broke a few things you know shocks and towers and what not but over all my pede has been very reliable but tha again his maxx has to so it really depends on you financial situation

Yeah, its really all in what you want, and what you have/want to spend on it.If you want the e-maxx,and can afford it easily, then i would say to go ahead and get it.If you cant afford it though, the stampede is a great alternative.

ya well i was thinkin bout just gettin a new much better servo instead of replacing the gears, but i have a question about the stampede... is this a rumor?

a lot of people said that the shock caps popped off when jumping, but i never experienced problems with that

um casey, of course it isnt as good as an emaxx, it costs about half the price of one, maybe less than half, but for its price its one tough s.o.b.

rcidiot728... I dunno about that but YOU really should switch to a HD servo...with all the trouble with replacing the gears every 2-3 runs, its not worth the time...get a new servo...

the stampede is the most durable truck ive ever seen. My frined bought one for his 10 year old(very hack driver), it lives throung more high speed crashes and cartwheels then youve even seen. I believe he broke a steering rod and one arm so far. I think if you put a super rooster, 10 cells and a 10 or 11 turn motor in the pede it would beat the emaxx in a race, and probably handle better too, as you long as you can prevent it from spinning out.
