Status: offline 		I have an OS 55AX on my boxxer right now. I am thinking of upgrading to a Saito 82 or Saito 72. Do you think this would be woth the money. I have a Saito 125 on my 65" yak an love the way it flies. I think the 4 stroke just feels better when flying. ( could be all in my head) I also have the Kat 70 with a OS 91FX and are thinking of just going SAito 100 on it too. would adding the extra weight cancel out the performance?

Status: online 		You'll probably have to make the call yourself as I think the majority are split 50/50 between 2s and 4s engines. The new 55AX is supposed to be really good but so are the Saito 72/82 engines. I've got a new 55AX but it is too new to tell yet as I only have 3 tanks on it so far.

Status: offline 		I think you will find that the Saito 82 is NO weight gain over the 55AX and the Saito 100 is NO weight gain over a 91FX. Actually, the opposite. Most folks believe that 4 strokes are heavier, but with Saito, that's not always a given.

I prefer Saitos to just about everything else, but if I were going to put a 2 stroke on anything I have in the 40 class, the 55AX would be my first choice. I've owned a 91FX, in the past, and never had a problem. In that class, you also already have what I'd want.

Saito 100 20.9 ounces w/muffler

55AX 18.52 ounces w/muffler
91FX 24.3 ounces w/muffler

Status: offline 		A lot of the weight savings on the Saito is in the muffler. It's 1/4 the size of the two stroke muffler. To answer your first question. YES get a 82.

Status: offline 		I concur, the .82 is probably one if not the best choice for power to weight for these size models and we've done the math on my friend's OMP 47" Yak. The .82 weighs the same as your average .46 2-stroke. Only downside we have found to the Saito motors like the .82 and the 1.25 is that they tend to shake a bit more than the average 4-strokes. We have no idea why but definitely if you mount something like this to the Boxxer use a light wooden prop to help minimize the vibrations especially when it's still new.

Status: offline 		I've been running the Xoar 14x6, and find it extremely good.

I prefer the performance of the Pro Zinger 15x4, but it's almost twice as much in cost, and fragile as hell.

The APC 14x4W isn't bad either.

Status: offline 		got the Saito 82 from my LHS, that thing kicks likes a mule and growls like a tiger, after a couple more tanks i will start to lean her out. thanks for the advice.
