Just started to position the cable outlet for the rudder, as previously posted the distance between the servo arm and rudder horns has been equalised and as the cables do not cross the fus cable will be parrallel all the way down the fus, so the outlet at the rear needs to be the same width for both static and at full deflection if binding on the fus is to be avoided, this will mean a longer slot and in a more forward location than the supplied template suggests.

Mike

EDIT: unable to load pics at the moment for some reason, will post some later.

Rudder cables and servo tray now installed, interestingly the cut out for the cables at the rear is apporoximatly 2.50" further forward than the template in the manual, the cables remain tight throughout there travel so it has all been worthwhile, third pic shows the canopy catches I use to hold the cockpit on, much better than bolts, tomorrow I will start the removable tank base installation.

Removable tank base started, I have used dowels to give a velcro strapped attachement to the wing tube, a horizontal plywood spar will be epoxied too the fus under the rear of the tank base and blind nuts and bolts used to prevent turning.

The material is composite balsa and fibreglass as supplied in the kit, with the added dowels and bolts its weight is 52grams, thats just under 2onz in US speak.

Pilot will need to be cut down to fit properly and I will have to make up a dashboard to cover the tank installation all of which should not be a problem.

Two more pics showing the cannister instalation, just need to put the rear cannister support in, will epoxy this too the rear UC mount to beef this up a bit as I had to file away some of the former to allow installation.

Few more pics showing the ignition support isolation mounts on the firewall and the cannister rear support, need refining to lighten them up by drilling holes in them to allow cable ties for the batteries.

Cannister support now epoxied in place with spreader plates on the bottom of the side fins these will be used to mount the batteries on, next job is the throttle and choke servo, still undecided where I am going to put these, probably on a servo plate fixed to one of the side fins and onto the rudder servo plate.
