hi i know i am new but its a matter of me sleeping afetr my 4-tec 3.3 was beaten by a electric. i need to build a fast electric to beat the LHS sponcered driver, he claims to be running a
"novak hv4400 550 motor and speed control, a 2100mah li-po 4 cell and last but not lease a tc3 electric".. or may be something by castle
so i am starting from scratch ... advise me what will be the best base (dont laugh i was thinking TC5, and the novak 3.5 turn and esc system with some lipo's)
i have a spectrum DX3.0 so radio wise i good
i need a car , motor , esc , pinon gear , tyres, battries , charger

Castle is the motor set-up of choice around these parts. Several of them going in the 1.4's at close to or above 100mph. Don't know if I'd use a touring car chassis however. Is it required in the class? If not get a walbern or GMS chassis. Much lighter and you don't need 4wd or the added rotational mass that all that stuff has to go drag racing. You want it as simple, light, and minimal as possible.

Ahh!! Just4Tec the only way to beat an electric powered rc car is with another electric powered rc car. The nitro version just does not have the capability to deliver the torque as quick as an electric. Believe me when I tell you that the car that beat you did not give you all that he had in store. He still had about half of his throttle to go. A lot of R&D went into that project and it was well worth it. He told me he didn't want to run his car all out because he wanted the other competitors to feel like they had a chance. ( Power fuh so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ) It is good to know that Andy has a lot of people doing some R&D of their own. By the way he came with another car in case some one beat the TC3. Needless to say he never had to bring out his backup. All the best on your project. See you on the 30th.
