Nice work so far couldn’t you put the engine on its side and fit a pitts exhaust on to it
Or is there no space. The engine you have seems to be a nice choice is that a HB 40 or an ASP
If it’s a HB it will have plenty power my father has one of the older ones with the perry carb and for a 40 it revs up very well with good power

I could, but I have not had much luck mounting two strokes sideways. Right now I just want to get it done and in the air, or out of the way. I am longing to start my next project a DHC-2 Beaver on floats 70" WS. Need to finsh it up get some stick time on my trainer and cub, and then fly the wing! Good news is in Puerto Rico it is flying season all year round, the way I fly there should be room in my hanger for the Beaver in about two or three weeks, I'd laough but unfourtunatly it is true. I have had quite a bit of simulator time this round so keeping fingers crossed. It is an ASP, and it was on a goldberg tiger way back when I got it in a trade, I did not use it on my trainer because I could not get that thing to calm down. Now it is bench tested and behaves quite nicely. I am still waiting on my retracts, and my fuel tank to get here.

Must be great to be able to fly all year round. Here in Scotland the weather can be pretty bad at winter and even in the summer. One minute its raining next its windy and the next sunshine I ve even had snow all in one day. Hard to belive but its true.
I am just as eager to get my CAP 232 back in the sky after a big smash took the fuse back to just behind the wing should be ready in 2 or 3 days keep the pics coming as I think this will look great when finished.

Some shots of the mock up, less engine. As previously posted the two aft engine pods will host false, but spinning props, this will aid in a scale likeness, and add some drag, lots o horse power on this ship. A few things not scale, aft angle on trailing edge is not exact to plans, but I let the balsa dictate sometimes, at worst it adds more wing area. The rudders do not run to the end of the wing, due to my proprensity to do like my screen name describes. I am extremly surprised that the weight is remaining so low, I will keep my fingers crossed. Where are my retracts?

More Progress. Trying to get this thing done so I can get busy on my large beaver, ok not large, but it has floats. My retracts came in, and my free time has opened up. Some pics, right now, the CG is dead on where I want it. Won't let me upload? I guess I will just post when it is done.

75% Done

Should be 48 oz total with everything.
Four GWS 350C 3.75 to 1
Flaps, Elevons and Retracts, with Clamshell Rudders
No Idea wing loading modified it to keep it light and I only had half the plans.

Questions:
What type of radio will I need to run all of this?
Will I need a bigger battery than the norm since I have 9 servos?
What type and how many ESC's will I need?
Batteries, what type and size? Prefer something that a charger is not $100.00.

Sorry no pics, computer needs a tune up.

Thanks in advance for any help.
