Hey Guys, I am getting this beautiful plane as a birthday present. I cannot wait!

I have a question for those who have built one already, does anyone think it possible or have any thoughts on modifying the wing to make it removable (without adding too much weight) I need to have the plane package able for shipping after building and flying it. It's that or wait another 12months before I get to build or flying it.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Bob

Bob,

The desigh of the wing will make it impossible to be made removable. Each wing sits in a recess along the fuselage but only the spar joins both wing panel. The root ribs of each panel do not touch each other. The root ribs are glued to the fuselage and the spar is join with 2 pieces of hardwood that are glued on either side. The spar and wood braces are rather thin and need the glue joint to have the strengh to support the stress of flying.

Thank you for your response Carguy.

I am very excited about getting the plane in the air but I guess I will have to be patient for a bit longer. It looks like it would be worth the wait though.

Regards,

Bob

you could buy the Eflite 260 3D ( I both) and it allows you to take off the wing. what you have to go through to get the 330s wing on there is no removal
