Hi all !

I just bought an Electrifly extra 330s performance series electric plane. This is my first performance electric with brushless motor. I just began assembling it and so far it seems to be a very well made ARF. Everything fits right, covering is well done and the trim looks fantastic !

Has anybody flown it yet ? Id like to hear what was your experience with that plane. I will be using the suggested rimfire outrunner motor and brushless speed control, spektrum DX7 radio and 2100mah lipo battery.

Can't wait to the first flight !!

Read this about the Rimfire motor. I won't buy any more.

Charley, I read part of the tread on rc groups that you gave link to. It seems to be a misfortune that one modeler had, but I'll double check on mine when it gets in, hopefully tomorrow ! Mine is not the same part number though, hope it will be OK. You're saying your not buying rimfire anymore, so you have already one or more of these motors. Anything bad happened to you ?

I usually expect very good quality of great planes stuff, so I'd like to know about your experience with these motors.

Thanks !

Hi bbike !

Let me know how your assembly and flying goes with your bird. I think you will be delighted about the quality of the kit. This is my first small electric, and the fabrication and design is amazing! The structure of the airframe is so small yet so strong. I just hope not to crash it, can't imagine the weight of the lipo tearing thw wood apart !

I just tried a modified stryker f-27 with brushless motor on 3S lipo and the power is amazing !

Please come back with your experience !

Not true! Quite a few of the small Rimfires, including mine, have spit the shafts out. You should have read on.....

Cool, just been looking at the motor and speed control. Seem to be all OK except the connectors do not mate with each other. This is weird since it is sold to work together. I will check the motor toroughly before mounting and add loctite to the setscrew that holds the shaft in place, just to be sure.

The plane is assembling fine. Everything fits very well.

bbike, how is yours doing ? Will it fly this week end ?

You need the 2mm-to-3.5mm adapters to mate the motor and ESC. Tower # LXPCE8 - Nice of GP, huh?

Hi ! Here I'm back with first flights impressions !

What a nice plane ! On take of, a little bit of right rudder is needed. Very fast take off possible if full throttle, like 10 feet !
I prefer to go smooth and it lifts at 50% throttle in about 25 feet.

The plane is very precise, and stops on a dime after you let go the sticks at the end of a manoeuver. It floats good and with power management I managed 8 minutes flights with a 2100 Mah lipo battery. The battery is brand new and I expect this time to go up with more charging cycle put through the battery.

Landing is easy and needs power to be carried to the runway treshold because that big prop slows the plane down. All in all, a fantastic aerobat !! Here are some pictures:
