Hello All. Im am becoming more and more curious about the new Esky Belt cp.
Has anyone got one and can share information about it?

For example is it no more than an expencive substitute for the allready popular HBK 2 but with a brushless setup? Any posts would be very interesting to read as this is a new topic with little or no similar threads.

I will post a video of the maiden voyage of mine later this afternoon after I wake up, I was on nights tonight (ugh).

You will love the Belt CP, it is very stable, and it comes with the upgrades you would spend money on to get for the HBKII. I will tell you this, though, the Belt CP is a bit wobbly out of the box, it needs a lot more tuning to fly properly than the HBKII did.

Also, the HBKII flies perfectly fine without a HH gyro, but the Belt CP is big enough and has enough power to make the tail annoyingly easy to lose without a HH.

Other than that, the Belt CP is a fantastic heli for the price. I got mine for 240 shipped, and it has been amazing. I added an Align HH Gyro (same as the Eflite G90) and it was a huge upgrade. So much so that I purchased another for the HBKII.

Also, out of the box, there is much more vibration in the Belt CP, which I think is due to the plastic frame. This does not affect the heli at all so far as I can tell, but the HBKII seems to be a bit sturdier due to smaller lengths of plastic parts required to complete the frame.

You will not regret either purchase, but please keep in mind that the Belt CP is really an outdoors only heli. It emits a large amount of rotor wash, which, during takeoff, is enough to toss it to the side and crash easily. The HBKII can be flown indoors and out.

I was a cp2 owner and went to the hb cool and converted it to a belt drive. Of course 3 months later they just had to come out with the King 2 so I decided to skip the middle man and just go straight to the Esky Belt CP. I wanted a substitute to practice on while my t-rex se sits and waits.

I've got to say the belt cp flies soo well that I haven't even thought to fly my t-rex because I'm now having so much fun flying this heli. I bought it thinking I'd crash again and again but this heli is really stable and for 129.00 bucks I can't believe what you get.

This heli is acutally bigger than a T-rex with a longer tail boom and heavier frame. This is a big plus over the King 2 as the weight makes it very stable and less susceptible to wind. Other posts have talked about cheap plastic, gears stripping like butter, and inaccurate servo's but I have yet to experience a single problem with the quality and haven't even thought to replace the servo's with better one's yet. The amp draw on the motor and esc provided is reasonable, and it certainly has enough power to be snappy.

The Gyro that comes with the almost ready to fly kit is a real pain, I replaced it with a telebee zoom500 gyro and it's now rock solid.

The majority of upgrades you can buy for HB King 2 can be used on the belt cp as well. I purchased the carbon fibre frame (not assembled) for 69.99 and I found the quality of it was just as good ad the Align cf frame for t-rex. The aluminum swash makes about a 20 percent difference correcting slop on the head.

Overall I love this heli, and for the money I can't believe what you get. I'm now more afraid to crash this heli than My t-rex because I've spent so much time and upgrades into it. When setup correctly this Heli is GREAT.

(I'll post some video and pictures if requested)

Yah, post some pics. I just got some in (like a couple hours ago, dont even have them on the site yet), dont have one in my personal heli collection, but from looking at it, it looks great for the price.

It is indeed slightly larger than the trex.

My new bling favorite is the MDX450v3. Wow, cnc everything and 35% less than TREXseV2. Even has bearings where the rex has bushings.

Michael

Here are the pics as requested, I also have some on my site here http://www.geocities.com/the_b_i_g_01/ESKY_BELT_CP_PHOTOS.html

I played around with different canopies and different electronics
I'll have airborne pictures and video once I get my camera back soon

You sell heli's? Perhaps you could get hop up parts for this heli. Almost no one sells upgrade parts for it but the Esky website shows tons of new upgrades for it here http://www.twf-sz.com/english/sjj1.asp?page=2&keywords=EK1H-E013/14

let me know what you think, cheers

Yeah I'm starting to regret not getting the hdx450 instead of the REX. I remember back in the day buidling a heli peice by peice from spare parts of other heli's on the helidirect website and then biggest coincidence BOOOM 3 months later they built the HDX almost exact to what I was making in my shopping cart. It's funny alot of HDX parts are walkera and copterX and align just thrown on a HDX superframe. Either way it Looks great, I'm conisdering the HDX(copterX) head for the belt cp, how heavy is that one all assembled and RTR?

Nice heli, are those align tail blades? IF so do they make a difference over the stock blades? What battery are you using, thats a bigger sucker under there?

The flybar and paddles are Align. The align is thicker and I went with a shorter length (200mm vice 220mm) one to calm the cyclic down a tad and changed paddles because the stock Belts are very sharp on the leading edge which will also cause a twitchy cyclic. Well, at least more than I like. The tail feathers are TRex SA tail blades which help it track better in FFF and going backwards plus they just look cool. As with almost all Align to Belt upgrades they do need to be sanded at the root tip to fit in the stock grips. Align mains need (2) 1MM space top and bottem to fit in the grips. I normally fly with a CAMA 2200 but the Big Cahunna was free and she lifts it and flies for awhile on it. It is a 3600MAH 3S. This bird, stock, could easily lift a 4400 3S. She does fly heavy though and needs a little more heads up when coming in for an approach. 335MM mains would help as well. It is interesting how the big battery really "scales" it out. She slows down and flies like a larger helicopter, not all jumping about like 3D. Just nice pullouts into FF and steady decents to touchdown. Don't get me wrong, she can still get up an go when she needs to.

Hey,
I have those cf frames in for the BeltCP. I can get most of those parts you referenced quickly, some will take a bit longer though, if you all are interested. Pre-order for a superb discount!
