Greetings.

I've recently purchased a Honey Bee cp2 (4 days) and I'm having some issues with the tail in flight. I'm thinking it's in need of a gyro adjustment, so i'll try to describe what it's doing and you can guide me from there. (I hope)

I've been going real slow with it until I get the hang of it. At this point I'm comfortable about 1 foot from the ground, still working on hovering. While in flight the heli will yaw to the left suddenly. It doesn't wag back and fourth, but I can hear the tail motor speed up and the nose jerks to the left. It's recoverable, i.e. I can yaw to the right and bring the tail back into alignment easily enough.

The problem seems intermittant. It only occurs when it's in the air. It might do it once every 30 seconds or so, or it might only do it once for the whole battery.

I've checked all the linkages, there's no damage to the blades or structure of the heli. I'm pretty sure from what i've read here that it needs a gain adjustment, but the symptoms do not coincide with the recommendation in the instruction book.

Hopefully some of you folks with more experience could advise me....

sounds like you might either have a motor going out, a defective gyro, or a gyro that is loosely mounted, or possibly some interference problem

It's hard to tell you how a tail motor should behave if this is fairly new to you, but they should hold well, and not get too hot, and respond well to your movements.

if the gyro is flopping around somehow it'll think the heli is moving, but it wont actually be, so check and make sure that is securely fastened with some foam tape. Also check the tail to see if it is securely fastened

check the antenna and make sure it is screwed in. Take the crystals out and reseat them. Make sure the antenna looks good on the heli and is all the way out on the remote, and try flying it in a different location to see if it still does it.

if none of those do it, take a video of it so we can see what it is doing =)

GL =) and welcome to RCU
