Hello.

I bought this plane last year when it was 2/3 finished. I have finished it this spring and now it has flown.
It weights 14,5 kg. (about 29 lbs.) and it flies very well, very smooth to handle and the engines have plenty of power to pull the plane around.
It has Robart Retracts,OS-120 fourstroke engines (with Pump),and Futaba Radio. It is covered with Oracover in olive and white.
My family was my Ground Crew and here are a couple of photos from the event.

Looks great and congratulations on the maiden. It would look even better with a pair of 3-blade Graupners though!

question for you if you won't mind?

How was it to build, are you on your own type build or are there step to step instructions??, I never built a Ziroli before.

Did you cut the kit yourself or buy a pre-cut kit from a kit cutter? could you post a few photos of the inside framework sometime if you have chance? I'm very intrested in building this, seen a ziroili 25 fly onetime and it was a jaw dropper. Loved it!

Thanks
willey

Willey that's a great looking Stang you got there buddy! Tell me a little bit about it, kit, engine, ws, etc. Brings back memories of mine which I lost a few years ago. In regards to the location of Allentown, we're on the eastern part of the state 15 miles from the New Jersey border, I'd say a good 5 hour drive from Erie and certainly not the kind of trip you want to make on a regular basis. You might however want to think about coming to our Warbird event next year (Warbirds over PA), we have a great field and we always get a good turnout. Check out our website at www.Buc-Le.org

Willey, I was reading your threads, if I had read them before you flew the maiden I would have told you not to worry about your Stang weighing 26 lbs. in fact I'd say that's not bad at all. The one I lost was a Top Flite 1/5 also which I had detailed to the hilt, full cockpit, sequencing doors, you name it. She came in at 28.5 lbs. dry and I had a 24 oz tank. I flew her with a Quqdra 52 and I think she didn't use more than 50 ft. of runway on the maiden and flew like a dream. In case your interested, her demise was caused on the second season that I had her by a stock $7.00 switch harness that most likely couldn't take the vibration and shorted out on me in-flight. It was my first warbird, and I was too naive (but also nobody told me) to realize that you need heavy duty stuff on a heavy warbird. Anyway, needless to say my P-47 has dual heavy duty switch harnesses and dual batteries which are part of a battery back-up system. Any failure in one, the other immediately takes over. Do try to make it next year, our event is getting better and better every year and we get people from all over the country.
