Hey Nick!

Any slop on wing tubes at the wings, stabs, or fuselage? Do incidences come out with out any work? Are control surfaces pre-drilled for hinges? Is there a spot for rudder servo on the tail or just Pull-Pull? Thankx for your time!
I am about ready to drop some coin on this one!

3DAP I cant answer all of your questions but here is what I can.
Control surfaces I know are pre-drilled for robart hinges. If it is made by Extreme Flight I can say for sure that there will be no slop in the wing tubes.

I would say since the wings and stabs bolt on and the firewall is already marked, that the incedences will be no problem. It looks like the firewall is already set to account for right thrust.

I dont think that there is a spot in the rudder in the rear but I would guess that it couldn't be that much work to put it back there if you want. I have noticed that Chris usually builds all of his planes where it is very easy to get the proper CG with the rudder set up for pull-pull.

Trust me I have been waiting a very long time for this one and I will guarantee that it will be worth every penny.

Hope this helps...................Maybe Nick or Graham will chime in and give some more guidance.

All tubes, stab and wing tubes are all Carbon Fibre, and they fit in to the tubes perfectly both in the wings and the tail aswell.
The surfaces all come with all the holes drilled and the horns cut to length (if they require it) you will literally need to apply the glue ad you are sorted, and yep they are the robart hinges.

There is only one place for the rudder servo and that is in the fuselage and it would have to be pull-pull, by the looks of it due to the stuff for the talpane there is not enough room for a rudder servo nor is there a cutout.

Hope this helps

Graham

i always check for incidence when i build and the extra came up spot on on all measurements
the only boo-boo i have made was putting the battery behind the spar, i have had to take out the pilot and dash to get the c of g at 6.5 inches from leading edge and i have already glued on the top of the motor box which will now make things difficult to get the battery in there but no biggy at the moment as im still not sure if im that botherd having to lose my sexy pilot, that'll teach me not to wait for the manual to be released one tip i would advise you on is if you are going to use the KS 1060 pipe make sure you push the pipe into the tunnel from the front before you install the engine as it wont go in from the rear as did the 88 yak ! not sure if you will have the same problem with the ES compo pipe ?...graham ?
this plane is stunning, if you thought the yak was a pleasure to the eyes just wait till you see this baby in the flesh !

still not flown it as we are having the most crappiest weather over here at the moment but im hopeing this sunday will be the day

Chris, thankyou ! from a very pleased EF customer !! (again :P ) and of course to dan at freestyle-rc for an excellent service as always

Why not just strap the battery to the top of the box and leave the lid glued on? Drill some holes for straps.

Also I'm not crazy about gluing that lid on as the access is needed to service the throttle and choke servos/linkage later. I think I will screw mine on even though I'm sure it makes the box stronger.

hi joe, i did think about doing that actually, hmm..... i might just do it now lol, i would defo. fix the lid on as it does provide a lot of strengh to the motor box and im sure EF strongly advise it, i made a servo tray for the throttle servo to save any grief with access.

yep the es composites pipe also needs to be put in to the tunnel BEFORE mounting the engine otherwise it will not go in!

I will probably get mine up after christmas due to not having the engine etc yet, but I can't wait to fly it!! I also have my eyes of an 88" yak 54! but this extra promises to be a stunner!

I'm on the list for this beauty, probobly won't get it till some time in Jan. can anyone give me some info on the pipe tunnell, I have a DA 50 with mtw cannister, my header has a 50mm drop. will it fit or will I have to order another one? also what length extensions for elevators and ailerons and what size servo arm for rudder? and one more, would 5985's work for this or would 5955's be better?thanks alot, Phil

4 inch offset rudder arm from SWB is what they recommend for it. Also go with 5955's. The 5945/5985 aren't as strong and have gear slop. I have plenty of first hand experience with them, they all have that same problem.

Cool looking plane. I can't wait to get mine next week. I heard the story about you needing to remove the pilot because of the CG but what about the spinner?

pliebo the 50mm drop is to much. You will need a 25mm drop.
