I just finished up my EF 300. I have four clear plastic 1/2" diameter washers left over. Anyone know what they are for? I was thinking maybe they go under the cowl but the instructions don't indicate that.

Otherwise I'm ready for the maiden flight. Just need some decent weather.

Never mind. I found earlier in this thread they are not used since Chris now has them include metal/rubber bonded washers. Should have searched the thread first.

My 88" Yak came with those also. Didint say what to use them for.So I used them on the bolts for the stabs. Gives the washers a bigger footprint on the Stab tabs..

Which spinner looks the best on this thing? A standard shape? P51? Or Ultimate?

I have to order one and I'm not sure which one to get.

How did your CG come out with smoke tank full and empty? Also where did you put it. Any pics?? Carbon fibre spinner does look bad a$$. But cutting slots and rebalancing might be a pain in the a$$. It would be nice for that price if it came done! JMO

JOE,

I cut standoffs to 1.687 and 6.4 from firewall to engine thrust plate. I can just barely get cowling on over former 1 about a 1/16 if I force it Do I need to over lap Former by another 1/8 or so? It looks like it should go a little more to be right. Here is a pic of a ultimate spinner as long as I got pics up right.

One thing that frustrates me, is the lack of space to get your hand down the fuselage to secure extension leads and my aerial....my only chance is to get my 2 yr old employed with her small hands, but this has other drawbacks! and is difficult to explain!

Any ideas?

Employe an 8 year old. Run your extensions in a tube as well as the antenna. Different tube

It broke the 4 screw anchors right off the spinner cone while it was running at a lower RPM. I won't use plastic again.

I had the same issue. No don't overlap, you will only push on the cowling and break it. Stand it off until it's right. That's what I was talking about earlier in this thread. The cowling doesn't fit like others I have installed. Mine just barely hides the seam.
