Does anyone know which ultracote colors match the red, white, blue version, specifically the red and blue?

I did a "search in this thread" on Ultracoat and only got that the blue is Ultracoat Deep Blue.

Any of you guys that have or have had the Yak and the extra which is the better plane? I have a hard decesion to make and need the help.

I have been flying a PA edge 540, and Wild hare Yak both fairly good planes but I am looking for something that will hover and harrier pretty good.

I have been looking at the extra but don't know if it is as good a plane as the yak.

Hey Gang,

Has anyone found a good replacement for the stock tailwheel assembly? A couple of harrier landings and a bunch of tail first ones and it's given up the ghost.

Thanks
Scotty

People have said the extra flys slightly better but to be honest I am not good enought of a pilot to notice a difference. Buy the one you like the looks of the best, they are both capable of performing any manuver in the book. The only consideration being if you are hardcore 3D then I'd say go with a yak. If you like IMAC as well, get the extra. But again, either way both platforms are top notch in the air.

Guys,

I have been reading all the posts here but did not see what I was looking for and I need some advice. This will be my first gas / nitro plane. I have ordered the DL-50 but need to find out what batteries I need or can use. I have heard that lipo is good cause its lighter and I have also heard that the A123 batteries are good because they don't lose a charge just sitting there when everything is off. If I want to go with a lipo setup on the ignition and radio then what all do I need?
I appreciate all the help in advance. I cant wait to get this big bird in the air.

Greg.

Greg,
In my Yak 88 DA 50 I use Lipo 7,4V 1500 mAh for ignition with Smart switch from PowerBox - switch with regulator out voltage is 5,5V. For receiver I use 2xLiIon 2600 mAh(TBM) with PowerBox sensor - manager with double regulator - out volatge is 5,9V. This working very good.
Regards
Jakub

Does anybody have a blue and yellow right elevator? I dead sticked down wind and weeds ripped my counter balance off my right elevator.

Thanks

I think the low needle was too lean. First I had problems starting it. Then it flooded. Then I had to play with the needles to get it to start. Then I had to re-set the needles. I think I ended up too lean after the engine heated up.

You know, I am trying to repair it but it would be much easier and stronger to just put a new elevator on it. Not sure the repair job would hold up or look very good. The rest of the plane looks bling bling so I don't really want a wart on it.

Nope, it's an Area 51. Was running awesome for 1 1/2 gallons and then it wouldn't start and then flooded. Then couldn't get it to start after removing spark plug and drying it out many times. Then after playing with needles it finally throttled up and cleared out. These engines must load up with fuel when they flood. Not sure why the hard starts out of know where and then the flooding.

Joe,
What was the reason you didn't use the ZDZ 50 in this bird? This is likely to be my next plane and this is the engine I have.
Thanks
John
