Does this mean we can get it sooner?

Nope.... Rennie is on Team Extreme... he is a lucky guy and gets them before the rest of us :)

Flyin Hawaiian -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/2/2007 5:04:04 AM)

Yes, It comes with pilot head, Dash Panel, and cockpit floor. No it does not have Carbon Fiber LG. You guys who are on the waiting list will be getting yours in a few weeks. According to Chris H., That shipement is nearly sold out, but will have more coming a few weeks after that. You guys who want one should contact www.extremeflightrc.com and get on the waiting list. Am doing the 110" Yak 54 build first, then 50cc Extra.

JoeAirPort -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/2/2007 3:48:08 PM)

Is this Extra truely 88.5 inch wing span? And Can I assume the length is about the same? Trying to determine if it'll fit in my Honda Accord. An 85 inch WS gasser does but 88.5" might not.

rc-plane -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/2/2007 9:34:20 PM)

So when does this come out?

Jake Ruddy -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/2/2007 10:06:08 PM)

Should be here x-mas week.

rc-plane -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/2/2007 10:38:16 PM)

Do you know the cost and other details. i am sure its in this thread but to lazy to read all of it

Jake Ruddy -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/2/2007 10:41:14 PM)

I dont think a price has been offically released... Probably similar to the 88 Yak though.

I see you posted a bunch of polls... while polls are ok and will give you a general idea. Without reading through a bunch of threads you are only getting a brief over view. There are many things about the products available in this hobby that might make you not agree with the poll.

For example... there is only a handful of people who have flown this plane. So it would be hard to get an accurate picture. Another thing is engines... DA has out sold most of the 50cc engine companies around we are talking 1000s of engines... while others may have only sold hundreds. .. surely more would be available to vote for a DA, if they all spent time on RCU.

TomG3D -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/3/2007 12:07:37 PM)

The Extra is about 2 inches longer than the yak fuselage wise.

I can fit the extra in my peugeot 106 hatchback so you chould have no problems :D

nick05 -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/3/2007 11:35:08 PM)

got mine !! WAHHOOO !! stunning !!! on with the build !!

tom i reckon ill have mine in the air before you get yours back rofl.....MUHAHAHAHAH !!

Rush7 -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/4/2007 12:09:31 AM)

Price has not been released but I would say that you could bet on the same $650 as the Yak. If this is the case I can garuntee that it will be worth every cent of it. Chris put some awesome hardware with his planes.

nick05
Thanks for rubbing it in......lol[:D] Congrats on the plane now lets see it in the air what are you waiting on.

mflander -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/4/2007 1:25:59 AM)

Chris told me $650 plus shipping via e-mail, so I would say that is the price. I am on the waiting list. One of the rare times I will be excited to pay $700 for something. I want it so bad...

rc-plane -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/4/2007 1:35:36 PM)

Does anybody know if there is any decals that go on the fuse. behind the canopy. Looking at the pics on page 1 or 2 it looks like it just needs somthing back there.

Love this plane probably will be my first gasser if the flight reports go well! (which they should)

Rush7 -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/4/2007 1:43:32 PM)

rc-plane, from what the guys across the pond have been saying and after talking to Chris Hinson about the plane, I dont think there is enough concern to worry about not going ahead and getting on the waiting list for the plane. If there is one person that I respect and trust in this hobby it would have to be Chris and the Extreme Flight guys. If they say that it flies great then I am confident that it will fly great.

I have been on the waiting list since last November. I dont know for sure but I may be the person that started the waiting list. When I heard that EF would be bringing out an Extra and after flying the electric Extra I was hooked and knew that I had to have one.

Jake Ruddy -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/4/2007 2:00:48 PM)

Most big planes come with minimal graphics... most people prefer (including myself) to design my own grahics. When you have an idea of what you want simply call up bad brad graphics and tell him what you want.. he will send you a proof and then once approved cut the vinyl and send it. www.badbradgraphics.com

As far as flight reports there already have been some and some video early in this thread.

I have flown it and it flies great which is why I am already getting one :)

nick05 -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/4/2007 4:02:52 PM)

ok heres a few more teasers for you guys, if you thought the yak construction was good, wait till you see this baby..............

i will post more piks as the build goes if any1's interested ?

mflander -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/4/2007 4:08:22 PM)

So jealous... I can't wait for mine!!!!

nick05 -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/4/2007 5:00:58 PM)

the usual suspects in the harware pack which all will be used, usual procedure for installation of hinges and control horns, i personally like to use gorilla glue

setup will be same as my 88 yak:

hs5955tg servo's all round
hs5245 on throttle
DL 50cc
s bend header and KS 1060 tuned pipe
vess 23b prop
optic kill switch
2500 nimh 4.8v ignition pack
3700 nimh 6v rx pack
RS10DS Synth rx

cadconversions -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/4/2007 5:07:21 PM)

nick, dump the NiMH packs and check out the A123 packs - non-regulated, fast recharge in 15 minutes, and they don't self-discharge like NiMH's.

nick05 -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/4/2007 5:51:58 PM)

check out the detail in the dash [X(] my camera just dont do it justice.......

TomG3D -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/4/2007 7:10:03 PM)

nah mate, your slow ;)

hopefully the geoffmeister is going to help out with the rudder repair..

JoeAirPort -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/4/2007 7:13:20 PM)

That thing looks awesome. One question: How do you work on the throttle servo/linkage once you glue that top plate on the engine box? I assume that plate is to be glued on for extra strength and rigidity. I may just screw it in instead of using glue.

I tell ya that thing is lightened to the Extreme.....there ain't a whole lot where you could remove anything.

Also that firewall looks very thick. Is it a few pieces of ply vs one? I like it.

nick05 -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/4/2007 7:13:46 PM)

well sooner the better m8, should'av given to him first [:)]

the top plate was the very last thing i attached to the yak, once all install was correct i glued her in.

nick05 -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/4/2007 7:47:10 PM)

[:D] p.s will be usuing swb arms, 4x1.5" and 1x4" offset rudder arm, i will be leaving the horizontal stabs permantly attached so 1000 mm extensions x2 for elevaters, 300mm extensions x2 for ailerons, rudder servo will not need one and either 300mm / 500mm for throttle servo
